Love Island star Anna McEvoy announces birth of first child with husband Michael Staples: ‘He is our everything’

Anna McEvoy has announced the birth of her first child.

33-year-old Love Island celebrity, together with spouse Michael Staples, announced in November that they were expecting their first child.

The couple took to  their respective Instagram stories on Saturday to announce the good news.

Anna and Michael both shared a simple clip that revealed they were now proud parents to a baby boy.

‘Baby Staples and Anna are happy and healthy,’ the simple post read.

‘We adore our little man. He is our everything.’

Instead of revealing their newborn’s name or posting pictures, the couple decided not to disclose those details yet.

On Thursday, Anna posted an adorable video, disclosing that her baby boy was due to be born via Caesarean section.

In simpler terms, the video displayed Anna and Michael grinning widely and tightly embracing each other, with Anna, who has blonde hair, proudly revealing her growing belly in a black sports bra.

She then held her hand up to the camera and the scene then cut to the pair wearing hospital scrubs.

Text on the clip revealed that their son arrived on the same day.

‘We are meeting our son in 30 minutes,’ the caption read. ‘Who is he going to look like.’

The post sparked a whirlwind of eagerness among friends and fans, with Tammy Hembrow adding her comment: “Oh, this is thrilling!

Another follower offered: ‘This makes me so emotional! Such a surreal feeling. Happy baby day.’

I’m really thrilled for all of you! I’ve been following your pregnancy journey right from the start and can’t wait to finally meet the baby!

Anna revealed in November last year that she and Michael were expecting.

Clips saw the happy couple looking loved up as Anna flaunted her growing baby bump. 

Initially, the video showcased scenes reminiscent of old footage featuring Anna and Michael as youngsters. Later, it transitioned to depict them seated inside a car.

‘The baby is ten weeks old and 3cms tall,’ the podcast host said with a bright smile.

Additionally, various segments within the montage showed glimpses of the couples visiting doctors, some even undergoing ultrasounds.

In March, Anna revealed revealed the details of a shock health scare that sent her to hospital.

Anna posted a video on Instagram from her bed at Cairns Hospital, saying: “Our little one has been acting rebellious and hasn’t moved for the past 48 hours.

The midwife advised us to visit Cairns Hospital for some checks. After an hour of observation, they appeared satisfied with the results.

‘When we left, they said “I think you have a cheeky boy”. We weren’t surprised.

Funny enough, as soon as we arrived at Palm Cove, he began to dance and celebrate, yet, unbeknownst to him, she was already in her third trimester of pregnancy!

Anna and Michael were married at a glamorous ceremony in Greece in 2023.

Instead of choosing a different month, they decided to have their wedding in May at the elegant Courti Estate, often referred to as a high-end villa on Corfu Island, which offers nine comfortable bedrooms for their guests.

After they exchanged their vows, the pair was showered with petals when the bride held a white rose bouquet.

‘Our wedding day at The Courti Estate was magical,’ Anna told the Herald Sun at the time.
