Mass Effect Adaptation Moves Forward With Star Trek Writer as Showrunner
The adaptation of the popular sci-fi video game series “Mass Effect” by Amazon Prime Video continues to progress, with the writer from “Star Trek Beyond” now serving as the show’s chief creative executive (showrunner). In 2021, Amazon MGM Studios obtained the rights to the video game franchise from Electronic Arts, and since then, it has been among several sci-fi/fantasy TV shows in a development holding pattern. The “Mass Effect” series brought on Daniel Casey, who also worked on “F9: The Fast Saga,” as scriptwriter at the end of 2024.
