Hatsune Miku and Persona 5 Join Sonic Racing CrossWorlds in Exciting September Crossover

This major upcoming release will feature Hatsune Miku and other beloved anime and Japanese intellectual property on consoles globally.

A trailer for the upcoming “Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds” was shared on June 6th. The new kart racer, titled “Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds”, allows players to hop into the driver’s seat as their favorite characters from various universes within the Sonic the Hedgehog series, in addition to a variety of other well-known intellectual properties.

Among the most recognized characters transitioning to the realm of Sonic Racing is the well-known Vocaloid character, Hatsune Miku. While she’s no stranger to other popular series, her appearance in a major kart racer, specifically Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, marks a first. Similarly, Hatsune Miku did not make an appearance in Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Yakuza: Like a Dragon as of 2020, nor has she before. Interestingly, Ichiban’s presence in Sonic Racing: Crossworlds is equally unforeseen, though given his eccentric nature and past appearances in various crossovers, it’s not entirely unexpected.

In the trailer for Sonic Racing: Crossworlds, it was revealed that the Minecraft universe would be integrated into the game. Unlike previous crossovers where characters from Minecraft could be played, it seems that Minecraft will have its own distinct mode within Sonic Racing: Crossworlds. This mode appears to transform the game’s usual fast-paced look into a block-based existence more reminiscent of Minecraft’s style. Sonic and his sleek, winged ride maintain their unique appearance in this crossover kart racer.

The upcoming game, titled “Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds”, will continue the tradition of high-speed racing games based on the famous “Sonic the Hedgehog” series. The journey began with “Sonic Drift”, launched for the Game Gear in 1994. Over the years, more than a handful of “Sonic the Hedgehog” racing titles have followed, encompassing various styles such as kart racing, hoverboard racing, and others. In 2010, “Sega All-Stars Racing” was introduced, offering fans another thrilling kart racer that showcased not only Sonic the Hedgehog but also popular characters from Sega’s extensive library like Banjo & Kazooie, duo Zobio & Zobiko from “The House of the Dead”, and the renowned Ulala from “Space Channel 5”.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is currently set to roll out onto the track on September 25.
