Garcia stated that she believes the numerous plot twists in Criminal Minds are what have kept the show running for so long. Although there was a gap between Season 15 of Criminal Minds and the first season of its revival, Criminal Minds: Evolution, the essence of the series has remained largely unaltered. The majority of the original cast from Season 15 is still present, and the location of the Behavioral Analysis Unit remains the same. However, each new season continues to provide intriguing storylines.

A significant part of it is because of unexpected turns, where the show presents us with something we never imagined before. The latest twist being Voit’s sudden display of empathy adds an additional layer of compassion towards his character. All of a sudden, we find ourselves rooting for him as the series prepares to explore a possible path of redemption. As Garcia put it, “you begin to question your own feelings when you discover that you’re developing positive and caring emotions for a character who was previously disliked over the past two seasons.

Initially, I found myself so enraged while watching Voit during the past two seasons that I felt like tossing my shoe at the screen. However, this current season has left me in such a state that I feel compelled to hug him instead. It’s as if I’m questioning, ‘Have I become too soft-hearted?’

Intriguingly, it was announced that Criminal Minds: Evolution season 4 had been confirmed before the air date of season 3 even began, providing us with some time to relax. This meant we could enter the current season without worrying about a sudden cliffhanger ending that might never be resolved. The main cast members are all set to reprise their roles, but so far, there’s no indication whether Garcia will appear; she expressed interest in returning if they can find a suitable role for Dr. Ochoa.

Without revealing any secrets, if I manage to survive this season (which is by no means certain), I’d be thrilled if she could simply become an additional resource for the team, regardless of her specific role. (Criminal Minds)
