Snapshots of the freshly designed container were shared online today, and truthfully, it’s among the most innovative we’ve encountered recently.

Displaying a popcorn maker filled with delightful, buttery treats, the intricate bucket (pictured) features Superman gazing longingly from outside as his heat beam bursts through the container to warm up the kettle containing the popcorn kernels. It’s quite spectacular, truth be told, but not everyone is left in awe by this grand unveiling.

On X, @imgoingtoduck expressed that things were becoming excessive, saying, “These are starting to spin out of hand.” @JollyRogX commented, “I think these popcorn buckets have surpassed the point of originality,” and @bo086432 echoed this sentiment, stating, “I can’t imagine a more poorly-designed bucket.” Lastly, it seems like @DaveyJ_ is harboring some frustration, as they mentioned, “It feels like there’s a lot of built-up anger regarding these buckets.

Despite all the criticism, there are multitudes eagerly anticipating the Superman popcorn bucket. Unfortunately, although the new Superman popcorn bucket is fantastic, it’s exclusively available at Vue Theaters in the U.K., leaving American fans disappointed unless they know someone who can mail it to them. Today, the cinema chain announced this exciting news, emphasizing that the new snack holder is just one of several items they plan to offer when Superman premieres, with other options including a light-up cup, a standard bucket featuring David Corenswet’s face, and a gripper cup designed to resemble Superman’s iconic costume, complete with a cape.

So far, cinema chains in the U.S., such as Regal and AMC, haven’t disclosed their plans for Superman enthusiasts yet, so we’ll need to be patient a bit more to get a glimpse of their merchandise. It’s clear they have something exciting up their sleeves, but whether it will live up to the greatness of what Vue is offering remains to be determined.

The much-anticipated release of Superman is set for July 11, 2025. Tickets are already available for this summer blockbuster that is predicted to be one of the season’s biggest earners. Initial forecasts suggest it could gross anywhere from $150 million to $175 million within its first weekend in the U.S., a substantial opening for a superhero film and a significant step toward recouping its reported production cost of $225 million.
