Teen Mom star Kailyn Lowry’s son, 15, comes out and reveals why he changed his name to Elliott
Kailyn Lowry, formerly of “Teen Mom,” is joyously marking a significant achievement with her oldest child. This young adult recently declared his sexual orientation as gay and shared his preference for using a fresh moniker, all discussed on the most recent broadcast of her “Barely Famous” podcast.
On the latest episode, the 33-year-old celebrity from reality TV asked her 15-year-old son (with ex Jo Rivera) to join her as a guest host, where he shared insights about his current life experiences.
The teenager expressed that it’s significant to them because, growing up on television, it’s challenging to reveal one’s true self with a camera constantly in view. It feels as though they have a TV persona, making it tougher to act naturally and feel more at ease.
He went on to explain that he changed his name after no longer feeling connected to his birth name.
He explained that he began using the name Elliott because, at a certain point, he wasn’t satisfied with his original name. It simply didn’t resonate with who he felt himself to be.

According to Lowry, she thinks the change was partially aimed at distancing him from the image viewers had of him on MTV, and Elliott concurred, stating it was indeed accurate.
He then confirmed he identifies as gay.
Moved deeply by feelings, Lowry wept in admiration as she extolled her son’s bravery, expressing that she felt an immense sense of pride towards him for standing firm in his identity, deeming it a ‘courageous act.’
He commented, “I’ve had enough of others creating their own tales, rephrasing matters, and presenting information about me that suits their narrative, as my life is not a spectacle for others to enjoy.
I have control over my own life, and I should be the one to decide how to use it. Taking personal belongings or information from me without permission is unacceptable.
‘If I want to share it, I should share that on my own terms.’
As a lifestyle expert, I have a multifaceted family structure similar to mine. I share my 11-year-old son, Lincoln, with my former partner Javi Marroquin. I’m also blessed with two energetic boys, Lux, aged 7, and Creed, aged 4, from my past relationship with Chris Lopez. And most recently, I have a toddler, Rio, who is just 2 years old, with my fiancé Elijah Scott.
In late 2023, she also welcomed twins Verse and Valley with Scott.

In the podcast, the revelation was made following Kailyn’s display of her slimmer figure in bikini photos, which she shared after having a breast reduction surgery.
Back in December Lowry revealed she had gotten a breast reduction just before Christmas Eve.
Instead of posting about it directly, she decided to document her recovery journey on her Instagram Stories by sharing multiple selfies taken after surgery. She also sought feedback from her followers, asking if they’d be interested in more detailed content related to the operation.
Months later, Lowry underwent surgery, following her disclosure that she had been advised to reduce her weight if she wanted to qualify for a breast enhancement procedure.
In the realm of my unyielding fandom, let me share this revelation: Last May on her Almost Famous podcast, she confided that there’s a desire within me to enhance my silhouette with a breast augmentation. I made inquiries, scheduling consultations to achieve this goal. Guess what the surgeons told me? They advised that I should shed approximately 40 pounds first.
She emphasized, “Ideally, it should be about 50 pounds, though possibly reducing to 40 pounds, before the surgery can take place.
In retrospect, the ex-MTV celebrity confessed that she was overwhelmed by feelings, finding herself in tears while discussing potential breast surgery options such as reduction, implantation, or a lift with a medical professional on the phone.

‘I don’t even know if I can get my double chin done,’ she noted.
Following the arrival of her twins towards the end of 2023, Kailyn openly expressed her desire to experiment with the widely-used weight loss medication, Ozempic, in an effort to shed pounds swiftly and regain her pre-pregnancy figure.
She confessed on her Baby Mamas No Drama podcast in January 2024 that maintaining a healthy weight as an adult can be quite challenging, and she felt overwhelmed by the struggle.
1. “I went to the gym for five days every week. When it comes to getting plastic surgery, maintaining it is crucial.”
2. “For five days a week, I hit the gym. To keep up with plastic surgery results, regular maintenance is essential.”
3. “Five days a week, you could find me at the gym. Maintaining the results of plastic surgery is important to remember.”
4. “I made it a habit to go to the gym five times weekly. After having plastic surgery, consistent upkeep is necessary.”
5. “Every week, I worked out in the gym for five days. It’s vital to maintain plastic surgery results, though.”
