Victoria Beckham steps out as it’s announced her husband David is set to receive a knighthood

On Thursday, Victoria Beckham was spotted in West London, and news broke that her spouse, David Beckham, will be knighted.

Previously a member of the Spice Girls, now aged 50, exuded an easy elegance in black fitness attire and fashionable sunglasses upon stepping out from her £100K Porsche.

David finally received his knighthood, an honor long overdue, as announced in the King’s Birthday Honours List.

Previously unseen clips from the 2003 ITV documentary titled ‘The Real Beckhams’ have come to light, suggesting that Victoria was aiming for a prestigious title herself well before the honors list recognized her spouse.

The scene was captured early one morning, during the Investiture ceremony of David’s Order of the British Empire at Buckingham Palace. It depicts the couple getting ready in a hotel room in London, in anticipation of the momentous day ahead.

David, your grandmother and grandfather are quite thrilled. It promises to be a delightful day ahead, followed by a pleasant lunch, as Victoria shares with you. And she can hardly contain her excitement when she mentions, “I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that it’s going to be David Beckham OBE!

In response, David said, ‘I’ll prefer you refer to me as “it”,’ to which Victoria retorted, laughing, ‘Once you earn the title of “Sir” and I become “Lady”, I’ll ensure everyone, including you, calls me “it”. Everyone!’

Laughing awkwardly, David said: ‘We’ll see.’

At that moment, it seemed like a casual conversation, but looking back nearly two decades later when David was eventually knighted, her joking remarks appear strikingly prophetic.

Back then, their interaction felt light-hearted and playful, but with the news of David’s knighthood years later, her jokes now seem remarkably insightful.

50-year-old ex-Manchester United and England soccer legend will receive a knighthood in the upcoming King’s Birthday Honours List. His title change to ‘Sir’ will be official once the list is unveiled next week, as reported by The Sun, which means Victoria Beckham will now be formally recognized as Lady Beckham.

In the recently unearthed video of their preparations for his Order of the British Empire (OBE) investiture, their sons – Romeo, who was 14 months old at the time, and Brooklyn, aged four – can be seen too. A vivacious Brooklyn dashes across the scene, embracing his father upon his return from the ceremony.

That heartfelt father-son encounter from that day seems particularly poignant today, considering the distance between Brooklyn and the rest of the family.

It seems unlikely that Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, will take part in the celebration of David’s knighthood next week as they currently appear to be maintaining a distance from the wider family.

Victoria and David also share son Cruz, 20, and daughter Harper, 13.

In a different part of the video, Victoria playfully teases David, saying, ‘I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that you earned your OBE before me!’ (The OBE was bestowed upon David by the late Queen for his contributions to football.)

The well-known singer-turned-fashionista has not received any royal recognition as of now. After receiving her royal title during the investiture ceremony, she openly expresses a fresh admiration towards the British Royal Family.

‘I appreciate having a Royal Family; it’s quite charming. Yet, when I observed the Queen today, presenting awards for over an hour, I couldn’t help but reflect on her daily routine. She travels, works tirelessly, and remains gracious. Despite this busy schedule, she manages to make each person she meets feel unique and valued.’

She comments: ‘She talked to everyone! A man even received an award for his work with the Inland Revenue. Frankly, who would enjoy speaking to such a person? Yet, she did! That was really kind of her.’

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I recently peeked into this palace. While it has its charm, it falls short compared to the elegance of Buckingham Palace and lacks the contemporary flair of a truly modern establishment.

Or, more casually:

I took a quick look around this palace, but it didn’t quite match up to the sophistication of Buckingham Palace or the cutting-edge vibe of a 21st-century abode.

David and Victoria’s grand £2.5 million house in Hertfordshire, which they bought soon after their 1999 wedding, came to be known as Beckingham Palace among the public.

The Grade II-listed manor, sprawling across 24 acres and boasting a labyrinth, recording studio, and football field, served as a testament to their renowned celebrity status in the early 2000s. In 2014, they decided to part ways with this property, opting instead for residences overseas and a more secluded way of life.

In the latter part of the observational documentary, David muses: ‘Today, I experienced a deep sense of pride. Pride in being British,’ noting that the Queen had expressed it as a significant privilege to bestow the medal upon him.

In a different phrasing: ‘She inquired if the constant commuting involved with football play exhausts me. I replied that it doesn’t.’ Moving on to his 2003 memoir, My Side, he adds: ‘She didn’t seek an autograph… She had read my book, however.’

Last month, the former England captain who sports tattoos engaged in conversation with King Charles III at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show held in London. It’s been said that their relationship has grown stronger in recent years due to their mutual passion for gardening.

As a lifelong admirer of all things royal, ever since my days as a young scholar in Chingford, I’ve harbored a deep desire to be knighted. In 2003, it seemed that dream was within reach when I was honored with an OBE by the late Queen herself.

Earlier last year, it was seen as a positive development when he was appointed as an ambassador for the King’s Foundation, a charity of HM. However, there were initial concerns about potential complications in his tax matters that might have posed obstacles.

In February 2017, a series of emails were leaked revealing that the ex-footballer had used strong language to criticize a committee for not including him in their list for a prestigious award yet again.

Additionally, there was a supposed 2013 leaked email where, feeling frustrated about not receiving a knighthood, he expressed his displeasure by criticizing Katherine Jenkins. He exclaimed, “Katherine Jenkins OBE? For what exactly? Performing at rugby games and visiting troops. And rumored drug use. A complete farce!
