Naga Munchetty asks BBC Breakfast co-star to explain himself over blunder live on-air
During this morning’s broadcast on BBC Breakfast, meteorologist Matt Taylor experienced an on-air mishap. Co-anchor Naga Munchetty kindly requested him to clarify the situation.
In this morning’s broadcast, Matt discussed the wet weather forecasted for the UK over the weekend, but unfortunately, the visual aids didn’t seem to work smoothly.
viewers swiftly pointed out that the letter ‘W’ was conspicuously absent in the names of cities on the weather map, leading to misspellings such as Glasgow becoming Glason, Norwich becoming Norich, and Newcastle becoming Newcastle.

Addressing her co-star Charlie Stayt, Naga asked playfully, “What if there was no ‘W’ key on a keyboard; what would we call the film then?
Charlie responded, “The word you used made me wrinkle my nose, but I realized you were discussing the movie ‘Wicked’ instead of a piano keyboard.
“No, no, a writing keyboard,” Naga continued. “And we are going to Matt with the…”
“Eather,” Charlie added, before saying in confusion: “Where is this going?”
Naga asked: “Matt, could you possibly clarify? It seems many viewers have noticed an issue with your keyboard, is that correct?
Matt clarified the error by saying: “The problem wasn’t with the keyboard. Instead, there was a minor glitch in the graphics system.
On social media, fans swiftly noted a technical problem, as one person posted on X: “It seems that the individual responsible for labeling the BBC Weather had an eventful night, predicting Glasgow, Newcastle, and Aberystwyth.
A person commented, using humor: “It seems the BBC hasn’t got its spelling right for some locations on the weather map,” while another joked, “Perhaps the ‘w’ key is malfunctioning today #bbcweather #BBCBreakfast”. The misspelled place names were Norwich and Glasgow.
The debut print issue of “Digital Spy” titled “British Comedy Legends” is out! Grab a copy from your local newsstands or purchase online, currently available for only £3.99.
