The upcoming season of the popular spinoff series “Shoresy,” created and starring Jared Keeso, gets an honest update from a high-ranking executive. Crave’s offshoot of “Letterkenny” has grown into a cherished institution in its own right. This sports comedy revolves around the character played by Keeso, as he strives to lead the Sudbury Bulldogs to victory, attracting a new fanbase in the U.S. on Hulu. The fourth season of “Shoresy” premiered in January, and a fifth one is scheduled for release.
Justin Stockman, Bell Media’s Vice President of Content Development & Programming, spoke about Jared Keeso’s upcoming project and the potential future of the Letterkenny franchise to Deadline. Bell Media is among the production companies behind Letterkeny and Shoresy, with Stockman hinting that efforts are being made to create another series in the Letterkenny universe as a spinoff for Keeso’s next project. However, Stockman clarified that this won’t happen right away, but rather it remains a potential option:
Stockman said, “While we don’t have immediate plans for another spin-off, we are excited about the possibility of exploring more stories within the Letterkenny universe.
Initially, we were strongly urging Jared to create another series set in the Letterkenny universe, but what he presented isn’t exactly that. However, it’s so intriguing that it has made us abandon that idea for now. Upon receiving his pitch, our reaction was, “We’ll get to that Letterkenny spin-off later on.
What This Means For Shoresy & Letterkenny’s Future
Keeso Will Be Focusing On Something Else For A Bit

Stockman and Carlyn Klebuc, General Manager of Original Programming at Bell, were tight-lipped about the details of Keeso’s upcoming six-part comedy series, but they hinted that it would premiere next year. This project is one of the outcomes from a deal signed by Keeso in December 2023, leading to conjecture about potential expansions within the universes of Shoresy and Letterkenny as part of this agreement.
So far, it appears that a fresh spinoff isn’t imminent. However, executives are keen to delve into this opportunity, hinting at it following Keeso’s ongoing project. The excitement reflects how deeply the characters of Shoresy have resonated with viewers, rejuvenating the world of Letterkenny in an engaging way.
Our Take On Shoresy’s Future
It’s A Great Success Story

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that Season 5 of Shoresy has been officially green-lit! However, we don’t have a release date just yet. Despite the uncertainty about the franchise’s future beyond this season, it’s truly inspiring to witness a one-of-a-kind comedy series like Lettekenny not only surviving but also flourishing on its own terms. This unique voice has even paved the way for its spinoff to continue down the same path. When the time comes, the next chapter of this captivating story will have its moment to shine, though we may need to be patient.
