Kendrick Lamar and SZA have held the top position on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for an unparalleled 23 weeks with their collaboration “luther”. This record-breaking achievement, as listed on the June 7 edition, surpasses any previous high mark since the chart was first established in October 1958.

Previously held by Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” which ruled at No. 1 for 22 weeks between 2024 and 2025, the record for longest running No. 1 song has now been broken by a new contender: “Luther.” Prior to this achievement, SZA’s “Kill Bill” had held the title with 21 weeks of uninterrupted reign. In recognition of its record-breaking week, “Luther” received 16.5 million official U.S. streams and an airplay audience of 57.5 million. For the past 15 weeks running, it has maintained its position at No. 1 on the charts.

Beyond the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Rankings, this song is currently leading the Hot Rap Songs list as well. Simultaneously, it maintains its position at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.
