Among All Will Trent’s Personal Drama Heading Into Season 4, Ramon Rodriguez Added A New Wrinkle Into The Mix
After an exciting, suspenseful end to Season 3 for Will Trent, fans are left wondering what happens next. Unfortunately, we won’t find out until mid-2026 when Season 4 is set to air on television, pushing the wait into the future. As we look forward to seeing how the story unfolds and the personal struggles of the characters, actor Ramón Rodriguez has hinted at more surprises to come.
The closing episodes of Will Trent Season 3 were packed with unexpected turns one after another, and to make things more intriguing, the season finale introduced some heart-stopping cliffhangers. This leaves a multitude of issues for Season 4 to tackle promptly. Although the show won’t resume until at least January, it’s clear that Rodriguez is already pondering over these plot developments.
I had the pleasure of sharing some insights with The Los Angeles Times about the forthcoming season, and let me tell you, not only will we tie up those nerve-wracking cliffhangers, but there are many more intriguing plot points to look forward to as well.
We’re ready to delve into some weighty discussions ahead. The closing moments of Season 3 left us hanging with a few heavy topics: Angie Polaski (played by Erika Christensen) is expecting, but it’s clear that Will isn’t the father. This situation certainly promises intrigue! Amanda Wagner (portrayed by Sonja Sohn), who serves as a maternal figure for Will, is hospitalized. We also learned about Will’s dad, Sheriff Caleb Roussard, although we don’t know much about him yet. I’m eager to learn more about this character and his past with the mother. There are numerous unanswered questions that we’ll get to explore soon – could there be a new romantic interest for Will on the horizon?
Given that Angie, Will’s ex, has been in a relationship with Dr. Seth McDale and is expecting his child since Season 3, and considering that Will was also involved with ADA Marion Alba (played by Gina Rodriguez) during the first half of the same season but they ended things, it seems like it’s about time for Will to find a new romantic interest. After all, even though discovering his biological father is wonderful, he has quite a bit going on in his life at the moment.
Given all the events unfolding in the series, it’s plausible that Will’s romantic affairs may not be the main focus initially. However, since Rodriguez seems to be preoccupied with this matter, it won’t take long for Will to find himself in a new relationship. With his search for his biological father and another significant connection in the hospital, he will likely require emotional assistance. Whether that support comes from a new or old companion is yet to be seen.
Given that Will Trent has outdone itself in its latest season, the knowledge that we won’t see it again until 2026 only adds to the growing frustration of waiting. With so much ground to cover in future seasons, discussions around Season 4 are likely to commence soon. This could mean that filming may start relatively quickly, offering a glimmer of hope for more updates and behind-the-scenes content, which is at least something.
Fans of “Will Trent” may have to hold on a bit longer for Season 4, but they can fill the gap by streaming the first three seasons with a Hulu subscription. Re-watching the thrilling cliffhangers from Season 3 might make the wait feel longer, yet it’s sure that Season 4 will be worth the anticipation!
