In just three games during the opening Stage 1, I managed to advance and go head-to-head with some of the top-tier invited teams.
Looking forward to an extended and thrilling Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) Major tournament in 2025, with two teams already earning noteworthy victories. Kicking off the BLAST Austin Major 2025 by securing three wins during Stage 1 offers a heartening start for these teams.
It’s impossible for such a result to occur without a significant amount of work being put in. Moreover, it’s also true that two teams will be eliminated during the first stage finals. The matchups between HEROIC vs FlyQuest and B8 vs Wildcard are Round 3 upper matches. Which team can make that final push and secure their spot as Stage 2 participants?
Delving further into the CS2 BLAST Austin Major 2025 tournament, it’s important to remember that two teams may be disqualified from the entire event, and this unfortunate elimination occurs rather swiftly.

Without a doubt, both these squads stand out as the top contenders for Stage 1, and they’re absolutely captivating teams worth keeping an eye on.
Prior to the Counter-Strike 2 esports competition, HEROIC demonstrated their prowess by knocking out FaZe in the IEM Dallas 2025 event. This is still a notable accomplishment, even though the team didn’t progress beyond the subsequent round.
In the first round at the Austin Major, HEROIC outshone Chinggis Warriors, winning with a score of 8-0 during the second half, where they were defending as CTs (Counter-Terrorists) on the map Anubis.
In Round 2, we managed to edge out NRG, and I’ve got to say, it feels pretty impressive given the caliber of their players. Guys like Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella, who used to be with Team Liquid, and Alexander “br0” Bro, a former member of Astralis, were on their team. Quite a challenge, but we rose to the occasion!
As a gamer, I proudly qualified for the CS2 Esports Austin Major 2025! We battled it out in the European Qualifier and managed to secure a top spot, finishing either first or second. What an incredible achievement!
Interestingly enough, some CS2 esports enthusiasts might remember a notable game by FlyQuest, which was surprisingly against FaZe Clan, but this time during BLAST Rivals Spring 2025. Unfortunately for FlyQuest, they came up short in that match, but their performance was impressive, and it’s evident that the team has promising talent moving forward.
During the initial round of BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, FlyQuest outperformed Fluxo, securing a 10-2 lead in the first half on the map Ancient. Upon changing sides to CT, Fluxo managed to win some rounds, but ultimately fell short and lost the match.
The next opponent for FlyQuest was BetBoom: 13:10 on Mirage.
To qualify for the Major, FLY won the Oceanic & Southeast Asian Qualifier.

It’s important to note that Team B8 may appear youthful, but don’t let their age fool you! They managed to outplay Astralis during the European qualifier, securing a 6th place finish and earning themselves a spot at the BLAST Major 2025.
GO map.
Wildcard truly outshone during the qualifying tournament: they ranked first to second in North America! Plus, you might recall their performance at BLAST Rivals Spring 2025: they gave Vitality a tough time and emerged victorious over paiN with nearly dominating scores of almost 13-0 twice.
Two eliminated teams
Following the completion of Round 3, four teams find themselves in a fierce struggle for survival. Those who lose will be eliminated from the CS:2 Esports Tournament on BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. The same official broadcasts will showcase these intense matches.
- Chinggis Warriors vs FluxoFluxo
- Imperial Esports vs Metizport
For the victors of these two Counter-Strike 2 games, each move could potentially be their downfall, as they continue to reside within the danger zone of elimination.
Participants who lost their higher-ranked matches, however, are left with a single task remaining, and they have two chances to complete it. Delaying it until Round 5 is something everyone would rather avoid.
