Mia Sara, 57, starred with Tom Cruise then was in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, see her now in rare snaps

Mia Sara was a huge movie star in the 1980s.

In 1985, the captivating actress with an exotic charm made her first appearance on the big screen, sharing the limelight with Tom Cruise, in the magical quest for unicorns titled “Legend.

After a span of one year, when she was 18 years old, this enchanting actress secured a significant role in the classic high school comedy, released in 1986 titled Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, which featured Matthew Broderick as its lead star.

The 57-year-old Hollywood stalwart has continued to work but has rarely been seen.

On a Monday night, the actress with previously dark hair made her long-awaited return to the red carpet for the debut of her latest film.

At the Hollywood Legion Theater in Los Angeles, she attended the screening of “The Life Of Chuck” alongside veteran actor Mark Hamill from Star Wars.

Mia Sarapochiello was born in Brooklyn, New York, but her acting career took off when she was just 16 years old. This happened with the release of the 1985 fantasy movie “Legend,” where she played a princess and Tom Cruise portrayed a woodland man.

Despite being backed by prominent figures in Hollywood, including both actor Tom and director Ridley Scott, the film surprisingly failed to make an impact at the cinema.

After a span of one year, Mia gained nationwide recognition, being known as Sloane Peterson, the girlfriend of the mischievous high school student, Ferris Bueller, portrayed by Matthew Broderick.

As a seasoned lifestyle enthusiast, I sometimes indulge in the art of taking a well-deserved break, disguised as an unexpected illness. On one such occasion, I cleverly orchestrated a day off by subtly suggesting to my dear friend Sloane that her grandmother had passed away, thereby convincing the school to grant us both the day off. This little white lie, while not ideal, allowed us to enjoy a much-needed break from our busy schedules.

After its debut, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was an enormous hit at the box office and continues to be adored as one of the top-rated high school comedies produced by Hollywood.

Right after that blockbuster hit graced our screens, I couldn’t help but sing high praises for none other than Tom Cruise and the incredibly talented Matthew Broderick! In awe of their extensive expertise, I couldn’t help but acknowledge that they had many more years under their belts compared to me in this acting game.

She shared with UPI that Tom was incredibly committed, and I picked up many valuable working skills from him. Additionally, I admired Matt, as I had previously witnessed his performance on Broadway. He’s one of my all-time favorites.

During the ’90s, I graced the silver screen in films such as “A Stranger Among Us,” a captivating drama starring Melanie Griffith, under the guidance of renowned director Sidney Lumet, known for his masterpiece “12 Angry Men. I also appeared in the action-packed blockbuster “Timecop,” alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme.

She appeared in TV shows such as CSI: NY and movies including Dorothy & The Witches of Oz until 2013, at which point she decided to take an extended break from acting, a pause that spanned over a decade.

Back in 2010, I found myself transitioning into a new phase of life, embracing the role of a busy mother. My home, once quiet and orderly, transformed into a bustling and challenging environment to manage. So, while I may not be actively working as before, I am certainly far from idle!

As a New York-born lifestyle enthusiast, I’d like to share that my creative focus has been centered around poetry for the past few years. I expressed this during an interview with Total Film.

Currently, Mia is blessed with a daughter called Amelia, aged 20. This child is born to her second spouse, Brian Henson, who happens to be the offspring of the legendary creator of The Muppets, Jim Henson.

Apart from that, she is the mother of Dashiell, a 28-year-old son, by her former spouse, Jason Connery. Notably, Dashiell’s paternal grandfather was the renowned James Bond actor, Sean Connery.

After many years away from the movies, she is back with The Life Of Chuck.

Mia is part of an illustrious ensemble alongside Tom Hiddleston, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Hamill (perhaps referring to Mark Hamill), Jacob Tremblay, Karen Gillan, and Nick Offerman.

The film received a favorable reception from critics upon its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, and is set to hit cinemas shortly.
