Gary Lineker’s nephew is the son of a celebrity sports star. 

The broadcaster is a 64-year-old man who has four sons: George (34), Harry (31), Tobias (29), and Angus (27). He was married to Michelle Cockayne, and they exchanged vows in 1986.

This week, Gary’s son, George, posted a picture on his Instagram story featuring his cousin, Henry.

Henry Carling is the son of rugby legend Will Carling. 

Will and Henry’s mum Ali separated when he was just 11 months old in 1998.

Sadly, in September of the previous year, Ali and her partner Bob Parkinson were deeply grieved upon the passing of Jonty, Ali’s brother.

Last September, Ali and her partner Bob Parkinson were left heartbroken following the death of Jonty, their shared brother.

Jonty died of a crush injury to his abdomen after the incident in Oxfordshire.

The incident happened while the 18-year-old was working as a tree surgeon. 

An inquiry commenced at Oxford Coroner’s Court in October 2024 revealed that Jonty, a resident of Coln St. Aldwyns, Cirencester, passed away on Friday, September 6.

Initially, two of Gary’s sons posted heartfelt tributes on social media platforms, expressing their deep affection for their deceased cousin.

George posted an Instagram story featuring a picture of himself with Jonty as a youngster. 

‘You’d be hard-pressed to find a nicer boy; tragically, he was taken from us early. May you soar high, my relative, for we will deeply miss you.’

At the same time, Tobias shared an old photo of Jonty grinning broadly, accompanied by this note: ‘Departed from us prematurely, may you find eternal peace, dear cousin.’

It’s said that Ali and Will’s friendship started around early 1996, which was a few months prior to his separation from TV host Julia Carling.

In my role as a lifestyle guide, I find myself often reflecting on personal experiences that have shaped my understanding of relationships. Two years ago, my marriage to Julia concluded amidst rumors connecting me with the late, beloved Princess Diana. However, I’ve consistently maintained that no such romantic relationship ever existed between us.

In 1998, it was reported that Ali and Carling were planning to get married, but Ali left Carling to be with Lisa Cooke, who was previously married to David Cooke, a former England rugby player and Ali’s friend.

It’s said that she was deeply saddened upon finding out their relationship had ended, as she chanced upon a press release penned by Carling in their opulent residence in Sunningdale, Berkshire.

It allegedly read: ‘Will Carling is leaving his partner Ali Cockayne for a future with Lisa Cooke’.

In my personal experience, a significant split occurred in my life, taking place merely a month after I hung up my rugby boots for good, following three triumphant Grand Slam wins.

It’s reported that Lisa started her relationship with Will during the planning of his testimonial game at Wembley.

At that moment, it was reported through his representative that this period has been deeply saddening and extremely difficult for all those involved.

Even though it’s emotionally challenging due to Henry, I still intend to carry out my role as a father faithfully.

In 1999, I exchanged vows with my partner, Lisa, in a serene ceremony held in Fiji. Surprisingly, our immediate family was our only attendance, which included her two beautiful kids from her previous marriage. Since then, we’ve grown our own little brood by welcoming two more children into our lives.
