In my own words, I’d say: As a devoted fan, I can share that Nick Lachey disclosed he shed tears upon the conclusion of his reality series, Newlyweds, alongside his then-spouse Jessica Simpson. However, it’s worth noting that these emotions stemmed less from their marital status and more from the series itself coming to an end.
From 2003 to 2005, the popular MTV show was broadcasted, detailing the initial years of marriage for the couple who got wedded in October 2002.
Despite enduring intense public examination while the series was airing, they didn’t part ways until June 2006 – over a year following the conclusion of the show’s production.
As newlywedded couples gained popularity in the realm of pop culture, Nick admitted that it wasn’t the limelight that stirred his emotions; instead, it was the deep bond he developed with the production team that touched him profoundly.
He expressed on the Richer Lives podcast that he grew to deeply cherish the team, and on the day they closed down, he found himself shedding tears. That’s because over time, they turned into something more than just colleagues – they became like family to him.

He commented: ‘Initially, they advised me not to engage with the team, as they were supposed to be like invisible observers. But I countered, saying, “If this project is to succeed, I can’t operate in that manner because it doesn’t align with my nature.”‘
Let’s make it clear between us: I won’t have you in my home, monitoring me, and there will be no conversation taking place. It’s crucial for us to move beyond this situation as soon as possible.
Nick also admitted the show’s massive success was completely unanticipated.
As I pondered, it struck me how the spotlight had suddenly shone bright on the newlywed couple, catapulting them into a realm usually reserved for reality TV stars. Prior to this, the only other duo to grace our screens in such a manner was the Osbournes, who too had made quite an impact. However, their show was primarily designed as a means to boost their music careers.
He mentioned that his reason for joining was quite straightforward: “You see, around the same time, both my ex-wife and I were releasing our albums. So, I thought I’d do a short six-part series to help promote ours.
The Ohio native expressed that they didn’t anticipate it would transform into a documentary-style series offering an up-close look at reality. This twist was completely unforeseen.
Following the separation, Simpson subsequently tied the knot with ex-NFL player Eric Johnson. Together, they have three kids – girls Maxwell (age 13) and Birdie (age 6), as well as a son named Ace (age 11).
Meanwhile, Nick has built a new chapter with longtime wife Vanessa Lachey.

The couple, who wed in 2011, now co-host Netflix hits Love Is Blind and The Ultimatum together.
As a proponent of balanced living, I’ve come to understand the intricacies of blending work and matrimony. In my experience, it’s crucial to establish a boundary between these two aspects of life: ‘Strive to keep your work outside of your home, even if that’s easier said than done when you share a professional space with your partner.’
‘Generally speaking, I believe we excel at what we’re doing, yet there are moments when collaboration with my spouse can prove challenging.’
The couple share sons Camden, 12, and Phoenix, 8, and daughter Brooklyn, 10.
