50 Cent Opposes Diddy’s Pardon; Suge Knight Urges Fairness for P. Diddy
The high-profile sex-trafficking trial involving Sean “P. Diddy” Combs has attracted a significant amount of attention since his arrest in September 2024. Both the general public and members of the hip hop community have shown interest, with varying opinions being expressed. For instance, 50 Cent has been vocal in his opposition to Diddy, recently stating that he would hinder any efforts for a pardon. In contrast, Suge Knight has argued that Diddy should not serve a lengthy prison sentence due to reasons yet unclear.
What Did 50 Cent Say About P. Diddy’s Legal Situation?
55-year-old Diddy’s ongoing legal issues haven’t stopped 50 Cent from criticizing him for his alleged misdeeds publicly. The music star, who is 49 and whose real name is Curtis Jackson, expressed his opinion once more following a question about potentially pardoning Diddy by U.S. President Donald Trump. During a White House press conference, Trump, when asked by The New York Post, admitted that he hadn’t been paying close attention to the case but suggested he might consider a pardon if he examined the details further.
Subsequently, “Fiddy” – in a now-removed Instagram post – disclosed intentions to impede a pardon for Sean Combs if he’s convicted on federal charges. The creator of Power was direct and clear about hindering clemency for Combs.
He made some very harsh comments regarding Trump, which I find unacceptable. I plan on contacting him to express my disapproval and share my feelings about the matter.
More on Diddy

Amidst ongoing legal troubles for P. Diddy, it’s reported that his sons recently had a heated argument with Ray J, stemming from comments made by the rapper.
50 Cent, who’s also producing a Diddy docuseries, didn’t stop at just one post. He later shared another (now deleted) message expressing his thoughts: “Donald doesn’t handle disrespect well and tends to remember those who challenge him.” He further stated that “there’s no room for distractions” and suggested that President Trump might pardon someone being mistreated, but not Diddy.
Months after federal searches at his U.S. residences, P. Diddy was taken into custody, and subsequently faced a variety of charges including sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and others. In the past, both Diddy and President Trump were part of the elite social circle in New York City. The recent developments occur at a time when the president is granting pardons to figures like Todd and Julie Chrisley, rapper NBA YoungBoy, and others; it’s yet to be determined if Diddy might receive a similar clemency.
How Did Suge Knight Defend Sean Combs?
Speaking as someone who’s walked a similar path, I think it’s important to show understanding towards Diddy, despite our past rivalry. In an extended chat with ABC News, I, Suge Knight (formerly known as Marion Knight), acknowledged his actions in the past. I believe that, like many others in the music industry, Diddy shouldn’t be singled out for using aggressive strategies to succeed.
Let me clarify, he (Combs) did some truly regrettable actions, but I don’t believe he originated all those deeds and concepts independently. I don’t advocate for incarceration and a permanent removal of his freedom, as I feel he has the potential to do great things now, particularly by speaking truthfully about the industry. When one can decide who gets roasted on the proverbial “fire pit,” it’s not fair.
In 2024, Suge Knight voiced his opinion regarding the accusations against Sean Combs, referring to it as a “tough day for the culture.” More recently, Knight has advocated for Combs to testify and share his version of events. Despite being incarcerated with a 28-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter, Knight reiterates his stance that Combs should speak up.
Speak truthfully and honestly, without any deception, as doing so can help prevent recurring issues in the future. Regrettably, many people in the industry have been dissatisfied due to their experiences. This is a tragic situation. I believe that those who influenced Diddy during his life’s journey, particularly during his upbringing, let him down. Do I think he made mistakes? Yes, I think he often repeats behaviors and patterns that he has learned throughout his life.
Currently, it’s uncertain when Sean Combs’ sex-trafficking trial will conclude and a verdict will be handed down. If he is found guilty of any crimes, there’s a possibility that President Trump could hypothetically grant a pardon to Combs at a later stage. For now, it seems that 50 Cent and Suge Knight are maintaining their strong stances.
