Brisbane woman left stranded after Shannon Noll concert forced to pay $500 for ride home: ‘I just couldn’t believe it’

A woman residing in Brisbane had to use all her savings to find a way back home following a Shannon Noll concert, as she was unexpectedly left without transport.

On a Friday evening, Natasha Forrest went to see the Australian Idol star’s performance at the Burleigh Town Hotel in Surfers Paradise. The concert concluded at 11:30 PM, and afterwards, she waited for her taxi.

13CABS, I’ve been eagerly awaiting your wheelchair-accessible taxi for an hour now! I had faithfully booked my ride with you in advance, only to find myself stranded and waiting.

Forrest exclaimed, ‘I find this hard to accept! They informed us that the nearest driver they had was about 30 kilometers distant.’

After about an hour, a car arrived but it didn’t meet her requirements, so Forrest ended up having to spend $500 on hiring a stranger to take her home instead.

‘I used the last of my savings. It was either do that, or be left stranded,’ she said.

13CABS communicated to Nine that they are currently examining the situation and intend to extend heartfelt regrets to Forrest.

The taxi service further mentioned that they are collaborating with the state administration to explore an eco-friendly approach for delivering these services.

It comes after news that Shannon Noll is set to be a grandfather for the first time.

23-year-old Cody Noll, Shannon’s eldest child, shared on Instagram at the end of last month that he and his partner, Jessica Louise, are expecting a new family addition.

The happy couple shared a black-and-white photo showing Cody kissing his beloved’s belly.

‘Baby Noll,’ Jessiica captioned the sweet picture.

Supporters swiftly sent congratulatory messages, and a friend playfully referred to the pop singer as “Grandpa” with a jibe about “Duties.

Cody is the What About Me singer’s eldest son with his wife of 21 years, Rochelle.

The couple also share Blake, 22, and a daughter, Sienna, 18.

Shannon and Rochelle welcomed their youngest, a boy called Colton, in December 2018.

Last year, it was disclosed that Cody and Blake, Shannon’s sons, were pursuing a path similar to their renowned father.

Shannon mentioned that his two oldest kids often play musical instruments, sing together, and even jam with their cousins, creating quite a small but lively “family ensemble”.

In the meantime, Blake often performed as the opening act for his father during his tour last year, which included 20 shows in cities across New South Wales and Queensland.

Speaking to 9Honey in April 2024, Shannon confessed the one warning he shared with his youngsters.

He mentioned that it was unexpected of him to compose a track with an extended high note, one that he has to replicate each night during performances, making things a little challenging at times. But he added this with a joke.

He usually manages it, and he could do it consistently during performances. However, there’s a hint of apprehension that comes over him beforehand,” he remarked.

In January 2023, Shannon and Blake made an appearance at the Tamworth Music Festival, causing quite a stir among fans who asked for the autograph of their beloved son, who was often admired as a heartthrob.

Shannon chuckled as he shared that his romantic prime seems to be behind him,” or simply, “Shannon joked about being past his romantic peak, but he’s contentedly handing over that role to his son.

Blake, an up-and-coming craftsman (tradie), admitted that he took up the guitar roughly a year back and has often felt a tad apprehensive about singing and performing before his renowned father.

He shared that after understanding singing is similar to exercising a muscle, improving with regular use, he began practicing in the car, which boosted his confidence. This newfound self-assurance led him to take up playing the guitar as well, since he knew his singing would improve if he accompanied himself.

Shannon first gained national as the runner-up to Guy Sebastian on Australian Idol in 2003.

He lives with his family on an acreage in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales.
