Sam Thompson gives a major update on his relationship with Samie Elishi as he kicks off first day of gruelling Soccer Aid challenge
On the initial day of his demanding Soccer Aid competition, Sam Thompson shared some insights about his current status with Samie Elishi, as reported recently.
32-year-old celebrity from “I’m A Celeb” is assigned a challenging mission: trekking an enormous 260 miles, combining both bicycle and foot travel, to bring the match ball to its destination at Old Trafford. The ultimate goal is to generate essential funds for Unicef in this endeavor.
For the task at hand, Sam is anticipated to participate in a marathon for five consecutive days, interspersed with cycling, so that the ball reaches its destination by June 6, perfectly timed for the start of the event on Sunday, June 15.
In contrast to my sister Louise and her partner Ryan Libbey who stood proudly at the starting point to cheer me on, I found myself conspicuously missing from the scene.
Just before the upcoming challenge, Sam disclosed that some of his closest friends, such as his best friend Jamie Laing, have yet to decide or discuss their intentions about accompanying him on this journey.

Yet, he didn’t clarify if Samie, his girlfriend since April, is planning to join him.
To TopMob, Sam expressed his expectation that a handful of individuals would be part of the process.
When directly asked if Samie was going to show up, he replied: “It seems to me that… this situation goes far beyond mere information about my personal relationships or dating.
‘And I feel like it would take away from what it is going on. You know what I mean?
If I were married or had been in a long-term relationship, my perspective might be different. However, as it stands, I prefer not to engage in actions that could detract from what I’m currently doing.
The focus should be on these issues and UNICEF, as I serve as a means to bring attention to them.
Here’s my interpretation: “From my perspective, I’m primarily focused on earning income, so I prefer to maintain this approach.

In a previous conversation, Sam shared his thoughts on the major obstacle he anticipates encountering within the next five days.
He said: ‘The hard part of this challenge is gonna be the fear of not completing it.
What constantly challenges me the most in my mind is the dread of getting injured and not being able to continue playing.
‘I just, I have to be able to get of course I finish line.
Additionally, it’s evident by the crowd around us how many rely on me. Frankly, disappointing anyone is my greatest worry, and disappointing you in particular is particularly daunting.
Last month, Sam revealed his autism diagnosis, and when inquired about potential impacts on his path, he spoke honestly: “It’s quite challenging for me to focus on a single task, especially given my ADHD.
It seems like there’s no end to the tasks at hand, and it feels as though there are obligations popping up from all corners. You tend to analyze things thoroughly and plan ahead quite extensively.
I’ve been deeply engaged in it, and I’m quite optimistic that the heightened concentration might prove beneficial.

As I prepare to step into the unknown, I find myself grappling with uncertainty about how I’ll navigate my thoughts and emotions once I’m immersed. frankly, I’m quite anxious about managing my inner self.
I must admit, I’ve never embarked on something similar to this before, so I’m unsure how it might impact my thinking regarding finances.
Indeed, I do share your concerns. To be honest, it seems more like a psychological hurdle we might be facing here. I understand if that’s the case.
As I find myself pondering aloud and delving into my inner thoughts, I must admit that I’ve been experiencing some mental fatigue lately.
Regarding why he chose to participate in this large-scale event, Sam shared: “To put it frankly, my experience at Gosemala holds a significance beyond what I initially thought.
Additionally, I persistently knocked on the doors of UNICEF, hoping they would grant me the opportunity to embark on one of their trips.
1. I was ready to assist however possible, but it didn’t seem relevant at the moment. Later, I hoped to visit and participate in their activities.
or
2. I offered my assistance in any form, but it wasn’t necessary then. Eventually, I wanted to witness and contribute to their work on site.
‘I can’t tell it’s beautiful. And not in a way that I expected.

Initially, I ventured out with an anticipation for melancholy, and it seemed that this was the prevailing sentiment of the day.
Instead of what you initially said: “It wasn’t at all like that. It was optimism, it was hope, it was joy radiating from those kids’ faces – a simple happiness, yet profoundly hopeful.”
“Contrary to what one might think, it wasn’t despair or sadness I saw in their eyes. Instead, there was unbridled optimism, pure hope, and an undeniable joy that shone brightly – a simple happiness, yet filled with hope.
I firmly believe that if we could offer them even the tiniest stage, it would be more than enough to ignite their passion. They would seize this opportunity and turn it into something remarkable.
I believe they’ll grow up to become prime ministers and astronauts, fulfilling the dreams we had as children about what we would achieve one day.
‘They’re going to do it.’
Just recently, Sam unveiled a personal video journal chronicling his journey to Guatemala. During this trip, he was granted an exceptional glimpse into the operations of a project backed by UNICEF.
The five-day challenge he undertook is also scheduled for inclusion in a documentary airing on ITV, which will go live on June 13th.
This year, through the generosity of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, all donations given to Soccer Aid for UNICEF will be matched – up to a total of £5 million!
