On Sunday, David Beckham and his youngest son, Cruz, momentarily diverted their thoughts away from the growing family tension by sharing adorable photos of them playing with their cherished pets.

50-year-old footballer and his 51-year-old wife have grown apart from their eldest child Brooklyn (26), while their son Cruz (20) seems to be making an effort to keep his distance from Brooklyn, who is reportedly causing a divide in the family. The once close-knit family is said to be affected by Nicola Peltz, Brooklyn’s wife and heiress, according to rumors.

Following The Mail on Sunday’s disclosure, it appears that the rift between Cruz has escalated to such a point where he now makes prior arrangements to avoid meeting his sibling by contacting their preferred gathering spots in advance of any visits.

He reportedly reached out to the proprietors of these places directly with queries like, “Is Brooklyn present?”, to verify that everything was safe and quiet.

Moreover, it is reported that he also asked to be informed if his brother arrived at a later time.

Brooklyn resides in Los Angeles with his spouse Nicola, instead of living in London. The relationship has become so strained that he doesn’t inform his parents, David and Victoria, when he visits.

This past week, the pair traveled to the United Kingdom for a photo session with the high-end Italian clothing company, Moncler.

However, despite being only a short distance of two miles from their house in west London, they decided to keep the visit a secret, including from their 13-year-old sister Harper, who often posted photos with Nicola on social platforms.

It is reported that the Beckham family found out about Brooklyn’s visit through a Instagram post shared by Nicola, where she discussed the job.

The news suggesting that Cruz is taking steps to prevent unintentional encounters with his sibling underscores the significant divide within the Beckham clan.

He wrote: ‘It takes 43 muscles in your face to frown, and 17 to smile. Be kind and tell the truth.’

It appears that the meaning behind his statement about ‘truth’ was confusing, yet some people interpreted it as a coded message related to Brooklyn. Later on, this post was removed.

For quite some time now, there hasn’t been much family interaction, as the rift between them became apparent when Brooklyn skipped all events for his father’s 50th birthday celebration last month.

Brooklyn seemed to firmly declare his allegiance when he shared a picture on Instagram of him and Nicola on a motorcycle, captioning it: “My universe! You have my love forever! I always pick you, darling! There’s no one more extraordinary than you! Us together, forever, baby.

The Beckham family has kept a low profile regarding their disagreement, yet rumors circulate that they worry Brooklyn might be gradually influenced more by Nicola, the offspring of U.S. tycoon Nelson Peltz, raising concerns about her control over him.

As a source told the Mail last week: ‘Brooklyn is now being referred to as “the hostage”.

‘Those who love him fear that he is being controlled by Nicola, and it is heartbreaking.’

It is believed that tensions started before the £3 million wedding of Brooklyn and Nicola in April 2022, as it was reported that Nicola turned down a proposal to wear a gown made by Victoria Beckham for the occasion.
