Sydney Sweeney opens up about living in a Holiday Inn for eight months as a teen after her parents went bankrupt – as her jaw-dropping property portfolio is revealed

As a teenager, Sydney Sweeney found herself residing in a Holiday Inn for a period of eight months due to her parents’ financial struggles and subsequent bankruptcy.

27-year-old actress from Euphoria has become a multimillionaire following her achievements in acting, landing significant roles in series such as Anyone But You, The White Lotus, and The Handmaid’s Tale.

However, prior to achieving success, her family encountered financial difficulties. Her mother, Lisa, who was a criminal defense attorney, and her father, employed in the hospitality industry, had to file for bankruptcy.

Back in 2013, when she turned 16, her then-married parents decided to sell their house in Washington. For the next eight months, they all resided together with her older brother, temporarily staying at a hotel.

She shared with The Times about her challenging upbringing, stating, “For eight and a half months, we resided at the Holiday Inn in Burbank, northwest Los Angeles. Yet, it seemed as if that duration encompassed my entire existence.

In a single hotel room without a kitchen or balcony, we all resided. A pull-out sofa bed was where my father and brother slept, while my mother and I took the main bed… My brother and I made the most out of our circumstances, often joking that we were living in the luxury of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

We’d dash through various corridors, discovering staircases along the way, and bond with everyone on staff. They would often treat us to grilled cheese sandwiches.

Instead of starting humbly, Sydney has amassed a remarkable real estate collection, all due to the financial prosperity she gained from acting in films and television shows.

She owns a £4.5million Bel Air home, another Tudor-style home in LA that is worth £3.3million.

Apart from multiple properties in the Pacific Northwest, Sydney also owns an estate worth approximately £10.2 million located in the Florida Keys.

She mentioned that she’s searching for properties in New York, Texas, Italy, and London as well, at present.

During the interview, Sydney chose to keep her responses brief and pleasant when discussing the current state of her relationship with Jonathan Davino.

The actress, known for creating soap from her own bathwater, disclosed these details during an interview with The Times about her forthcoming television show, titled Echo Valley.

The actress from Euphoria, who was noticed not wearing her engagement ring in February, admitted the breakup when asked if any wedding plans were underway.

She replied negatively. However, when inquired about her relationship status, she affirmed positively and mentioned, “I am currently single.” She further elaborated that she’s discovering more about herself, investing more time with her friends, and enjoying the process greatly.

She and Davino, 41, had been together since 2018 and got engaged in 2022.

He was a producer on her successful romcom, Anyone But You, co-starring Glen Powell.

In the movie, there was an undeniable connection between her and the 36-year-old man from Texas, leading some to speculate that they were a romantic item during filming. This assumption grew stronger as they embraced their onscreen chemistry when promoting the film.

Currently, Sweeney takes pleasure in offering cuddles and embarking on outdoor adventures alongside her canine companions, Sully Bear and Tank. She also enjoys restoring classic automobiles and building a thriving real estate business.

It seems that some Sydney fans haven’t responded positively to her recent business collaboration – a special edition Dr. Squatch soap bar infused with her previously used bathwater.

On Thursday, an actress originally from Spokane, Washington unveiled a product named Bathwater Bliss. This announcement led to criticism from her 25 million Instagram fans, who deemed it as strange and off-putting.

On Friday, she playfully poked fun at her critics by wearing a casual white robe during filming for a HEYDUDE shoe campaign.

According to the Squatch brand, the soap contains actual droplets of Sydney’s used bathwater.

It’s designed as a tribute to her origins in the Pacific Northwest and a playful response to the internet’s fascination with the ‘blonde bombshell’, according to GQ.

On Thursday, Sydney posted on social media, saying in her caption, “Since you all were curious about my bath water following the @drsquatch advertisement… We decided to keep it.

Introducing the exclusive, limited-run soap called ‘Sydney’s Bathwater Delight’, crafted using my personal bathwater. It will be available for purchase on June 6, 2025, exclusively on our website: drsquatch.com ✨.

One admirer commented below the product image, showcasing its captivating depiction, saying, “Sydney, my dear, I adore you, but I’m unsure about this.

During her conversation with GQ, the star of Euphoria expressed that it feels like a delightful, complete loop to her, as fans often humorously suggest they want her bathwater.

Describing the soap, she mentioned, “It feels incredibly soft to the touch and is quite attractive. I’m actually holding it now. It has a marble-like texture with shades of blue and a hint of brown.

In the midst of opposition, a thrilled spectator quipped humorously in a remark, ‘I’ll gladly accept 100 of these,’ which garnered almost 3,000 likes.

Someone else wrote facetiously, ‘This is edible, right?’

Others were in disbelief, with one social media user commenting, ‘no way this is a real thing.’

Simultaneously, someone else penned, ‘Let’s get down to business,’ as another pleaded, ‘Couldn’t we avoid making this commonplace instead?’ or

Simultaneously, one individual wrote, ‘Let’s discuss in earnest,’ while another implored, ‘Isn’t there a way to prevent this from becoming the norm?’
