It was about 12 or 15 years, from start to finish. But after the last installment, I chose not to be resurrected. I felt it would have been inappropriate considering I had sacrificed my life for my own child. If Johnny [Depp] is on board…”, implying that he might return if Depp decides to participate.

Some thought she might play Redd, a character from the “Pirates of the Caribbean” ride at Disney parks whom Gillan resembles. Then he wrote an outstanding script, but the writers’ strike occurred, and everyone was on standby.” In contrast, Jerry Bruckheimer disclosed to another source that Jeff Nathanson and Christina Hodson were individually developing different Pirates of the Caribbean scripts, either of which could evolve into the sixth movie, though no definitive decision has been made yet. With actors like Orlando Bloom expressing interest in reprising their roles, it remains to be seen how this might influence script modifications.

It’s plausible that Disney is continuing work on two undisclosed projects, or they might have opted instead for a Johnny Depp-led project that aligns with fans’ expectations of the franchise.
