How dementia-stricken Bruce Willis bonds with his granddaughter Louetta
Rumer Willis shares a heartwarming peek at the bond between her father, Bruce Willis, and their granddaughter, baby Louetta.
During an interview with People, the celebrity, aged 36, discussed their family’s deep affection for their two-year-old daughter Louetta, whom they share with ex-partner Derek Richard Thomas. They mentioned that the family is quite taken with little Louetta.
The youngster serves as a bright spot for Rumer’s father Bruce, who is battling dementia.
Speaking about her father, she mentioned that despite the difficulties he faces, when we pay a visit, his face always brightens up and he becomes incredibly joyful and affectionate towards [her/me].
In my opinion, I’m truly blessed to be part of such an extraordinary family that adores her as we do. She’s a fortunate soul indeed, being the center of our affection. To put it simply, we can’t get enough of her!

And Louella also brings much joy to her famous grandmother, Demi Moore.
Rumer mentioned that Louella and Demi have a deep affection for one another. To put it simply, just watch their faces during a video call while they’re apart, and you can easily tell how much they care about each other.
She expresses such joy and it’s adorable, for my mother is simply marvelous around infants. She’s always been that way, and it’s a pure pleasure watching them interact. To top it off, they are just so playful and charming, she noted.
Baby Louella has clearly made an impact on Rumer’s family.
Previously, the actress who played The House Bunny shared with DailyMail.com her deep gratitude for being Louetta’s mother, describing her as exceptionally wonderful.
‘She’s so happy and wonderful and smiley. She’s joyful all of the time.’
Regardless of their divorce in 2000, which ended a 13-year marriage, the Willis family continues to maintain strong bonds and remain very close.
Together with Bruce Willis’ wife, Emma Hemming Willis, and their two little girls, they join in celebrating holidays. In these trying times of Bruce’s health struggle, they all stand by his side for support.

Rumer mentioned that whenever baby Louetta hears the ringtone of her phone’s FaceTime, her face brightens up, signifying that she recognizes it as a call coming from her family.
‘She’ll try to grab the phone and see who’s on it and her face lights up with a megawatt smile.’
Rumer also gushed over how ‘sweet’ it’s been to see Demi become a grandmother.
As a devoted admirer, I find myself expressing that grandmothers, in their essence, diverge somewhat from their roles as mothers. It’s like they embody all the unadulterated joy that comes with having a child, but without shouldering any of the burden of responsibility. There’s an irresistible sweetness about them.
Bruce was stepped away from public life after his diagnosis of frontotemporal aphasia in 2022.
In 2023, I learned that my condition had advanced, and with a heavy heart, I shared with my loved ones that I had been diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia.
