Lindsay Lohan DUMPS Netflix?! You Won’t BELIEVE What She Said!
It seems fair to assume that each and every Millennial across the globe is eagerly supporting Lindsay Lohan‘s comeback on our screens. Known for her memorable roles in films such as The Parent Trap, Mean Girls, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, and, naturally, Freaky Friday, Lohan made a highly anticipated return to acting in a series of Netflix romantic comedies in 2022 and 2024. Although the success of these led her back to the silver screen for the upcoming Freakier Friday, she is not content with limiting her career resurgence to Ted Sarandos’ streaming platform alone. True to her nature as a 38-year-old actress who started in the industry when she was just a single-digit child, Lohan harbors ambitious plans for her future, and these aspirations may not always align with the preferences of Netflix’s algorithm deities.
In a recent chat with Chloe Fineman from Saturday Night Live, published by Elle, Lohan discusses her reasons for not being able to continue starring in films like those on Netflix, such as Falling for Christmas (2022), Irish Wish (2024), and Our Little Secret (2024). However, it’s crucial to underscore that Lohan expresses gratitude to Netflix for her recent comeback. She also clarifies that the deal with Netflix was something she pursued intentionally.
As Elle framed it:
Chloe Fineman: After being away for some time, around the past four to five years, you’ve resumed your acting career. Could you tell us about this transition and how it unfolded?
Lindsay Lohan: In truth, it was Netflix who I ended up collaborating with during the pandemic. All along, I had been visualizing this very partnership. Whenever I felt the urge, I would write in my diary, “I wish to work with Netflix,” and speak it aloud. Lo and behold, my wishes came true. I thought, “What a delight it would be to create three films for them, and see where that leads. And then, absolutely, I want to return to Disney for my first feature.” So, by believing and visualizing, I made that happen, and now I am manifesting this new movie as well.
Ever since I’ve had the privilege of being part of such endlessly captivating films, I’ve found myself yearning to create more projects that bring joy and unity. Making movies is my passion, as they serve as a sanctuary for viewers, offering them solace and inspiring them with the assurance that all will be well. Now that I’ve achieved this, I understand that the secret to my lasting success lies in continually pushing boundaries and seeking new challenges. With Netflix, I realized it was time to broaden my horizons and explore fresh possibilities beyond the familiar.
But what’s next for Lohan in her career? Keep reading to find out more!
Lindsay Lohan’s About To Star In Her First-Ever TV Show, And It’s A Drama
Following her summer reappearance on the big screen alongside Jamie Lee Curtis in “Freaky Friday”, Lindsay Lohan will make her debut as the main character in a new television series. This series is adapted from Sophie Stava’s novel and marks Lohan’s first time starring in a TV show. Titled “Count My Lies”, this project will also see Lohan stepping into the role of executive producer, which is another first for her career. The series is scheduled to air on Hulu.
The publisher’s website describes the initial novel as a “fast-paced suspense thriller” penned by an inveterate fibber whose small falsehoods enable her to insinuate herself into the opulent lifestyle of a rich, married duo, Jay and Violet Lockhart, who hide sinister secrets. The character in question is Sloane Caraway, who manipulates her way into the wealthy circle of the Lockharts. It’s been announced that Lohan will portray Violet Lockhart in a tale brimming with unexpected plot twists and an abundance of deceit and concealed truths.
