Let’s dive into all the things happening in this patch which goes live at 9am EDT, May 27.

All VALORANT Patch 10.10 patch notes

Raze gets quality-of-live visual update for abilities

The visual effects of Raze’s explosions have been revamped to better show where her Boom Bot and Paint Shells can hit. Additionally, these effects will no longer linger for long, making the gameplay more transparent.

Consequently, you will clearly identify the areas where your skills are landing, simplifying the process of monitoring impact and planning your subsequent actions!

Client Updates

Riot Games intends to merge the PC and console editions of VALORANT, streamlining the gameplay for a uniform experience across platforms. Modifications will be made to interfaces to ensure consistency. This move is intended to save time by allowing updates and improvements to be implemented more efficiently. Here are some preliminary adjustments that have been planned:

1. Unified menus and settings: The user interface elements such as menus, options, and customization screens will be harmonized for both PC and console versions of the game.

2. Cross-platform play: Players using different platforms (PC or consoles) will now be able to join games together, expanding the player base and making it easier to find matches.

3. Controller support on PC: Console players who prefer controllers can now use them when playing VALORANT on their PC, providing a more comfortable gaming experience for those accustomed to controllers.

4. Improved matchmaking: With a larger player base and cross-platform functionality, matchmaking should become faster and more accurate, ensuring that players are matched with opponents of similar skill levels.

Console changes

  • Page for navigating to specific content types has been removed.
  • All content types (including Player Card and Sprays/Flex) are now available on the Collection page, matching the PC layout.
  • Gamepad navigation system for the Collection page has been improved.

PC changes

  • Level and Chroma indicators in weapon tiles have been removed.
  • Minor layout updates.

Competitive Updates

As a gamer dipping below the Radiant rank in VALORANT, I’m excited to learn about the changes in patch 10.10! Riot is expanding the amount of Refunded Rank (RR) I can get back within an Act. However, they’re keeping a close eye on specific scenarios related to RR refunds, as they continue to refine and improve the experience for all players.

In situations where a player on the opposing team is found cheating, they will be identified and penalized with a ban, allowing all other players to receive a refund under the RR policy.

Swiftplay

The icebox isn’t functioning in Deathmatch and Escalation modes as the Riot crew works on resolving persistent spawning troubles. However, in Armageddon, Tejo begins with three points rather than the usual two, providing additional chances for you to employ it throughout the game.

Initially, the developers overlooked this modification in patch 10.09’s release notes. However, from now on, ultimates needing nine points will gradually increase in power as updates are implemented.

  • Armageddon starting points: 2 > 3
  • Icebox remains disabled in Deathmatch and Escalation.

Bug Fixes

In the 10.10 update for VALORANT, Riot Games addressed and resolved several issues that were impacting certain characters, as detailed in their patch notes.

Omen

  • Reverted a bugfix that was released in 10.08, which should fix the issue where dead allies spectating Omen could see through nearsights (most notably Viper’s ult) if Omen is using Dark Cover
  • Reintroduced (and still investigating) the issue where Omen could not see properly when casting Dark Cover if he was overlapping another dense smoke (smokes that obscure vision inside, e.g., Jett Cloudburst, Brimstone Sky Smoke, etc.).

Vyse

  • Fixed an issue where Vyse’s Arc Rose hit confirm would play when affecting non-players
  • Fixed an issue where Vyse could no longer use Arc Rose for the remainder of the round if it was placed too close to the spike

Deadlock

  • Fixed a bug where jumping could inconsistently dodge Deadlock’s net toss despite players being inside the affected area

Tejo

  • Fixed an issue where Astra’s concuss always affected Tejo’s stealth drone as long as the drone had a line of sight to the concuss
  • Fixed an issue where Tejo’s rockets could get hindered by Waylay’s saturate and Convergent Paths

Yoru

  • Fixed an issue where Yoru’s flash visual decals would linger on walls they bounced off of

Brimstone

  • Fixed an issue where Brimstone’s ultimate visuals drew underneath the map
