On Sunday, singer-songwriter Jordan ‘Jutes’ Lutes married Demi Lovato in a ceremony held in Southern California.

Instead of following traditional practices, the 32-year-old artist known for “Sorry Not Sorry” and her 34-year-old partner chose an unconventional approach in one aspect of their wedding ceremony.

According to a source, instead of adhering to traditional gender roles by having the bridegroom say his vows first, the pair opted for a fun and unconventional method – they settled who goes first by playing rock-paper-scissors.

2021 saw Demi publicly identify as nonbinary and adopt the pronouns ‘they/them’. A year later, during an interview on the Spout podcast, they mentioned feeling more female and reverting back to using ‘she/her’ pronouns.

2023 saw her share with GQ Spain another motivation behind her resumption of using she/her pronouns: the task of educating people about gender was proving to be incredibly tiring.

On a Monday report by Page Six, it emerged that one of Demi’s wedding gowns shares an unexpected link with Miley Cyrus.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d say, “For my special day, I chose an ethereal off-the-shoulder white gown by Vivienne Westwood, reminiscent of the one worn by fellow Disney alum Miley for her 2018 wedding to Liam Hemsworth. Being a Texas native, I found this pearl-white dress perfectly suited my style and the occasion.

Instead of choosing the same fabric, Lovato selected a thicker silk satin for her dresses, while Cyrus went with a silk crepe variant.

Additionally, at Hailey Bieber’s 2019 wedding rehearsal dinner with Justin Bieber, she too donned a version of the designer outfit – specifically, a mini dress that showed off her legs.

For her reception on Sunday, Demi she changed into a Vivienne Westwood strapless column dress.
