Kelly Clarkson’s Show on the Brink: Staff Fear It Will Collapse and Hoda Kotb Could Replace Her
Excited Kelly Clarkson Show crew members are reportedly hopeful that Kelly may choose to leave when her contract with NBC ends next year, as this might lift the gloomy atmosphere on set, according to the Daily Mail.
Initially, the 43-year-old talk show host and past American Idol champion stirred concern among her team members by absenting herself from multiple shows in March without revealing specific details, citing only personal matters.
When she came back to work, it’s been said that her emotional instability and unpredictable actions have put the production team on high alert. Inner sources claim the atmosphere is tense, precarious, and might break down at a moment’s notice.
It’s clear that by the time her current contract with NBC expires in 2026, worth an estimated $12.8 million, there are indications that Clarkson might decide to leave the network.
If she were to leave her program, speculations have arisen suggesting that Hoda Kotb, a well-known former anchor of the Today Show who is currently 60 years old, might step into her place instead.
The news arrives at a crucial juncture in Clarkson’s singing career, as she prepares for a decisive summer: She plans to unveil her ninth studio album and has booked a brief Las Vegas residency that will run from July to August.

On the Kelly Clarkson Show, a team member shared with the Daily Mail that speculation about the star’s unclear future and mental well-being has caused concern among employees, leading them to worry about job security.
The producer expressed concern, saying, “She seems rather unsteady. She might leave unexpectedly at any moment. What are my options then?
The staffer emphasized, “I’m not just stressed; I’m beyond that point.” They continued, “Nobody enjoys the unpredictability. It seems as if it might crumble at any moment.
However, there’s curiosity among the employees as they ponder if a change to Kotb leadership might simplify their lives.
The producer stated, ‘Everyone adores Kelly, she’s truly remarkable. However, it might be advantageous to consider Hoda as a potential boss instead. Despite her immense popularity and respect among her previous colleagues, I believe she could excel in this role. She seems more stable than our current situation.’
The staffer stated, ‘If Kelly feels unhappy, it might be best for her to seek change. We’d empathize with that decision. Similarly, if Hoda wishes to take on the task, it could benefit everyone involved.’
Discussions about the absence of Clarkson’s daytime talk show, which debuted in 2019 and completed its sixth season, arose during the mysterious time gap in March.
More recently, during a concert, she caused surprise among her followers by stating that her focus on television work has been a diversion from her musical pursuits.
At a concert in Atlantic City on May 9th, she mentioned that it had been some time since they last performed a singing show because she now hosts a talk show instead. She described it as being almost like a completely separate occupation.
‘We are bummed ’cause we love doing [singing] shows, and it’s hard to fit it in,’ she continued.
But her comments didn’t stop there.

Following a comment about her appearance being “sexy” on stage, the mother of two admitted that she frequently suppresses comparable compliments in her professional life due to feelings of frustration.
In every HR gathering I attend, I often find myself wondering, “Why haven’t I been let go already?”… They inform me that it’s inappropriate to comment on a person’s appearance, and I strongly disagree with that rule. This was her statement.
She noted, “Since a few individuals are putting in the effort and achieving results, as I am, I hope everyone who sees me will think, ‘Wow, impressive job!’ regarding my recent weight loss.
Clarkson shared that a Human Resources executive at NBC reprimanded her for commenting on someone’s looks during work hours.
A staff member from Kelly Clarkson’s show, speaking anonymously to the Daily Mail, expressed that she feels Kelly is not appreciative enough and seems oblivious to the fact that many of her team members had to move their lives from Los Angeles to New York, leaving behind their homes, all because they firmly believed in her and enjoyed working for her.
Kotb joined NBC in 1998 and quickly became a favorite of both viewers and network executives.
However, fans were taken aback in January when she declared that she was leaving The Today Show to devote additional time to her struggling child.
Additionally, she was eager to devote more attention to her wellness business following decades of demanding early-hour routines.
The anchor is said to still be well-liked by NBC executives.
There seems to be some uncertainty about whether she will take over from Clarkson, but there’s a rising sentiment among the show’s team that she could potentially be the superior choice.
Daily Mail has contacted NBC for comment.
