Meet Mischa Heywood: The 15-Year-Old Horror Star Set to Dazzle Hollywood!
At just fifteen years old, Mischa Heywood has an impressive acting resume that rivals many who are striving for success in Hollywood, all while still attending school.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I am thrilled to announce that I’m preparing for my first major role in “Bring Her Back,” an exhilarating supernatural horror film by the brilliant Aussie duo, Danny and Michael Philippou – the visionaries behind the blockbuster hit “Talk To Me.” Their work on “Talk To Me” generated a staggering revenue of over $100m at the box office, making it a must-see in the horror genre. I can’t wait to bring this new project to life!
From her beginnings in children’s series The Wonder Gang, it might seem surprising that Mischa would take her next major stride into the horror genre, given her own admission of being easily frightened by gruesome movies.
But the young star revealed that filming Bring Her Back was anything but scary.
She described her experience playing Catherine in the movie as being similar to a grand celebration, and she found it incredibly enjoyable.

It’s not hard to understand why, given that the film is directed by Danny and Michael Philippou, who are famously known as the RackaRacka brothers.
From a young age of seven, I began capturing stunts and pranks in our backyard on camera. Over time, we moved beyond homemade videos to feature in Hollywood films, such as the 2022 release “Talk To Me” and, most notably, “Bring Her Back,” which will make its Australian debut on May 29 and premieres tonight right here in Sydney.
Mischa shared with Daily Mail Australia that these YouTube-turned-horror directors are bursting with energy and cheerfulness, which is beneficial since when creating something as heavy as ‘Bring Her Back’, it’s crucial to have moments of fun on set to help maintain a lighter atmosphere.
‘They’re just the sweetest human beings.’
And the RackaRacka brothers weren’t the only ones on set who had the young actress starstruck.
She mentioned that the most memorable part of the filming experience for her was likely getting to meet Sally Hawkins. She found Sally to be incredibly impressive, both in terms of her cool demeanor and her dedication to her work.
In a different wording, it can be expressed as: Actress Sally, known for major blockbusters like Willy Wonka, The Shape of Water, and Paddington, portrays Mischa’s mother Laura in the movie.
Instead, Mischa claims that Sally’s character in the cherished English bear story differs significantly from her portrayal of Laura, who strives to resurrect her daughter through supernatural means.

‘Paddington’s mom gone rogue,’ she joked of her TV mum.
In the midst of taking on adult-themed films, Mischa managed to maintain her youthful spirit on set. She would often engage in games of foosball with her fellow actors during breaks and spent time having dinner at YoChi with her co-star Sora Wong, who portrays Piper.
Amidst delving into mature film roles, Mischa found opportunities to embrace her teenage side while on set. She enjoyed playing foosball with her castmates during downtime and shared meals at YoChi with Sora Wong, who plays the character Piper.
During the filming of Bring Her Back, Sora became one of her closest companions, and they all supported each other throughout the process. They formed a strong connection as they discovered common passions and being around the same age made them even more compatible.
Sora was the one who shared the exciting news with Mischa – they were going to Los Angeles for the U.S. debut of the movie. This was an extraordinary moment for the budding actor.
‘LA has been on my bucket list for years,’ she said.
Mischa’s L.A. journey was like a film script come to life, ranging from accidental encounters with celebrities on city sidewalks to dining at Californian eateries popular on social media. A highlight was her visit to an iconic LA landmark with directors who always seemed to be up to something mischievous.
We visited the Hollywood sign, accompanied by Danny and Michael. Suddenly, it turned into an impromptu acting skit where we pretended to have a heated argument. It was incredibly entertaining,” she revealed.
Without a doubt, the RackaRacka siblings continued their antics by crashing tourists’ photos while showcasing their acrobatic battles at the renowned photo location. This behavior, though predictable for admirers of their unruly pair, brings a touch of humor and spontaneity to the scene.

Following the fun-filled antics during the production of the Phillippou brothers’ film, Mischa is now focusing on what lies ahead, with multiple prospects in sight.
She mentioned that there are numerous meetings planned with major film studios, which she finds very thrilling, regarding her forthcoming ventures.
In 2026, Mischa will star in a new horror movie titled “Dead Eyes.” The film also includes Ana Thu Nguyen and Stephen Phillips in its cast.
Regarding the future, Mischa is open to trying something new, considering a more lively and cheerful music genre for her upcoming performance.
She mentioned that it was similar to the atmosphere of Disney, and she had long aspired to play the role of Rapunzel in a live-action adaptation.
With Mischa venturing into the horror genre, gracing LA red carpets for premieres, and collaborating with prominent rising directors in cinema and TV, it’s hardly surprising that she’s being viewed by industry experts as a potential successor to Margot Robbie.
And with a three-year head start on the beloved Aussie actress, she may just be the next big thing.
