IEM Dallas 2025: Team Vitality take a 30-series streak into the Austin Major

Team Vitality continues their dominance, clinching victory at the Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2025, maintaining their title as an indomitable champion.

At the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Dallas 2025 finale, it was a lopsided competition. Team Vitality, who were heavily favored, had already knocked out Team Falcons during the first semi-final. On the other hand, MOUZ made short work of The Mongolz. However, their ultimate opponent in the finals proved to be their Achilles’ heel.

After failing to secure a complete series victory against Vitality since the IEM Rio 2024, my team, MOUZ, were eager to break their relentless winning spree. However, despite numerous near misses and impressive clutch plays, we ultimately came up short in our attempt.

Team Vitality make it 30 on the trot

Initially, in the match, Dust II set the stage, and it was MOUZ that held an edge following the initial pistol round. Nevertheless, Vitality swiftly turned the tables, claiming several more rounds before the switch. When they switched sides, it was time for MOUZ to show their prowess, as they won six consecutive rounds, taking the lead on the first map.

With Robin “ropz” Kool and Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut on the attack, it was clear that Team Vitality had the upper hand against MOUZ. In just five rapid rounds, they seized control of Map 1, demonstrating their dominance in the match.

Approaching Mirage, it appeared we’d swiftly acquire a strategic layout. With a dominant 10-2 score in the initial half, Vitality left their adversaries with no hope. Yet once more, MOUZ staged a remarkable recovery. A series of six consecutive rounds propelled them back into the game. However, Vitality displayed resilience and claimed the last three rounds to secure a 2-0 victory.

At IEM Dallas 2025, Inferno was the third map selected and served as the decisive one. MOUZ attempted to stage a comeback after Vitality’s initial superiority, but just like in the previous two maps, their efforts fell short. Eventually, Vitality secured victory on their second chosen map with a 3-0 sweep.

Six trophies in 2025 and no end in sight

A thirty-game winning streak in tournaments has been extended by Vitality, and what’s more, they have won six consecutive trophies in 2025. As they head into the BlastTV Austin Major 2025, expectations are high as they are clear front-runners. The team aims to maintain their dominant form in upcoming competitions.

After the final game, Dan “Apex” Madesclaire shared some thoughts on their win and the direction of the team.

It’s hard for me to imagine such an event taking place. Going into this competition, we weren’t particularly optimistic. I’m left utterly amazed. The Major is our primary objective; we’ll put forth our maximum effort. There’s a significant amount of pressure on us, but we are well aware that we will be considered the front-runners.

In simpler terms, ZyWOo was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament due to his outstanding performances, which were impressive as usual. However, he wasn’t entirely convinced that he played exceptionally well throughout the tournament. Yet, his performance in the finals was flawless. According to HLTV, ZyWOo had a KDA of 59/35/19 and an ADR of 99.6, demonstrating his dominance for his team during the competition.

After that, IEM Dallas 2025 concludes, with Team Vitality as the victors. They’ll all have a week off before we gear up for The Austin Major starting on June 3rd. Whether Vitality can maintain their winning streak or not is yet to be determined. But if they don’t, who will ultimately defeat them?
