Famed US rockers Love/Hate are heading to Australia in January for their first ever tour.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be joining the ranks of die-hard fans for an unforgettable experience celebrating the iconic heavy metal band, who are renowned for their cult status. We’ll be commemorating their groundbreaking 1990 debut, Blackout, in a specially designed Red Room during their tour across Australia – a must-see event Down Under!
Led by original member Jizzy Pearl, who is 67 years old, the band will commence their tour at The Prince in Melbourne’s St. Kilda on January 15.
A show at Sydney’s Crowbar will follow, before wrapping up the tour in Brisbane on January 17.
Based out of Los Angeles, the band Love/Hate was recognized for being pioneers who crafted an innovative sound by blending heavy metal, glam, and the raw, gritty style known as ‘sleaze’ rock.

Fans in Australia can anticipate experiencing powerful, live performances of their beloved songs from the band’s iconic first album, as it will be performed in its entirety.
In the year 1985, James Wilkinson, known by his stage name Jizzy, established the band Love/Hate in the bustling city of Los Angeles following a period of exploration with various styles and tunes, such as gothic rock and electronic music.
The original lineup of Love/Hate comprised of Jizzy and Jon E. Love, Skid Rose, and Joey Gold.
In 1987, the version of the group’s song “Frauline” sparked a bit of intrigue after it was featured in the horror movie “Critters 2.”
About a year after that, another Love/Hate song titled “She’s an Angel” was featured in the soundtrack for A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master.
In 1989, they filmed Blackout inside a crimson chamber, but despite its rapid growth in popularity, it didn’t garner enough support to significantly impact the band’s chart success on a large scale.
The album managed to make only no. 154 on the US Billboard Top 200 in 1990.
Jizzy is currently the sole original band member who continues to perform under the name Love/Hate, a moniker that has been associated with him for the past four decades, since the group disbanded officially in 1997.

‘To all intents and purposes, I’m Love/ Hate now,’ the rocker told Louder magazine on Saturday.
Besides all the band members who are now retired, our bassist, Skid, resides in the Philippines and no longer engages in music.
‘The drummer, Joey, has a really amazing job and doesn’t do music any more either.
However, an array of Love/Hate tunes has emerged, encompassing both solo works by Jizzy and collaborative efforts like Jizzy’s Love/Hate and Love/Hate itself. Essentially, they can be used synonymously.
