Vinessa Shaw’s Shocking Divorce: Secrets Unveiled After 2 Years!
Hocus Pocus star Vinessa Shaw’s marriage to Kristopher Gifford is ending after almost ten years.
On Thursday, Gifford officially requested a divorce, with their separation being marked as October 24, 2021 – a secret split that had been hidden for close to two years.
Vinessa’s former partner, who is co-parent of their seven-year-old boy Jake, reportedly attributed “unresolvable disagreements” as the cause behind their separation, as stated by TMZ.
He’s seeking joint legal and physical custody of their child, and did not request spousal support.
48-year-old actress is recognized, in part, due to her portrayal of Allison Watts in the 1993 movie “Hocus Pocus,” a film starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy.

The former couple started dating in 2007, got engaged in 2008, and were married in 2017.
Besides Hocus Pocus, Vinessa has also appeared in films like Ladybugs, Eyes Wide Shut, and Ray Donovan. More recently, she played a part in the 2024 remake of Cruel Intentions, which was released on Prime Video.
Before the dissolution of their marriage, she regularly appeared in her husband’s Instagram photos.
In a recent post of his, she, the striking brunette, was last seen in mid-July 2023, just prior to their split.
They both follow Buddhism, and just under a month following their split, on November 12, 2023, Kristopher posted a quote that went something like this: ‘Idleness and laziness lead to nothing productive. Whining and avoidance reveal a fearful character.’
Back in 2017, August to be exact, Shaw dropped a bomb shell! They hinted at an upcoming addition to their family, sending me into a frenzy as a die-hard fan. Finally, the wait was over when they announced the arrival of their bundle of joy in March 2018. I couldn’t contain my excitement!
Sharing an intimate, monochrome picture of her grasping her newborn son’s little hand, she disclosed that he had arrived on February 20th – over a fortnight past her expected delivery date.
On February 20, 2018, following a challenging delivery filled with difficulties that extended beyond the due date by two and a half weeks, Baby Jack was born, tipping the scales at an impressive 9 lbs 9 oz!!” she announced.
The elated new mother remarked, “It’s clear to see that we couldn’t be happier with our newest family member! Our plan for a natural delivery didn’t go as expected, though.

On Jake’s birthday this year, she shared two pictures featuring her son; one was a nostalgic snapshot of him nursing as a newborn.
She posted on Instagram, ‘Today, this boy turns SEVEN! Jack, I’m so proud of the wonderful person you’re growing into: you’re witty, intelligent, and compassionate. I apologize for laughing excessively, it’s just because you’re too amusing!’
Your outlook on life is truly remarkable, blending profound insights with youthful humor, often involving humorous references to nature calls. I eagerly anticipate the path of your future growth.
It’s a joy to have you in my life, bringing me happiness and strength, not just emotionally but also physically! (Check out the photo of us with my bulging muscles!) I’ll always be here to answer your profound questions and engage in our playful shenanigans. Keep being the deep, honest, and strong person that you are! Wishing you a wonderful birthday filled with love.
