“Horrific” sequel to 2023’s best horror movie Talk to Me gets “insane” update

In a refreshing rephrase, let me say that “Talk 2 Me”, the follow-up to a highly praised horror film from the past decade, underwent a remarkable makeover, which can be described as mind-blowing or utterly thrilling.

2023 saw the acclaim of “Speak to Me,” an Australian chiller that centered on a band of teenagers and a puzzling mummified hand, following its wide distribution. Critics and viewers alike applauded it, with the movie breaking records as A24’s top-grossing horror film upon release.

After achieving great results, it was confirmed that a second part – provisionally named “Chat With Me Again” – is being produced, with directors Danny and Michael Philippou planning to be back for more, both on set and writing the script.

During a chat on Bloody Disgusting’s The Boo Crew podcast, the Philippous revealed some news about the sequel. They mentioned having drafted two distinct scripts for “Talk to Me 2.” Each script centers around unique groups of characters who inhabit different locations.

As a gamer, I can’t contain my enthusiasm for both of these projects. There’s a particular sequence in one of them that I believe will be one of the most chilling experiences I’ll ever capture… It’s downright terrifying. The scene is mind-blowingly intense, and I’ve already begun discussing it with others.

[We’re pondering] ‘how can we execute this realistically?’ Those discussions are underway, but it involves taking a break from the world and then returning with renewed energy. That’s why we decided not to make the sequel immediately.

The duo, first recognized for their popularity on YouTube, have shared more details about their upcoming projects. They’re currently producing a documentary centered around death match wrestling and hinted at another “massive” horror movie in the pipeline before diving into Talk 2 Me.

Meanwhile, as they work on other projects, the duo’s second film, titled “Bring Her Back,” is set for cinema release in the near future. This horror movie revolves around a brother and sister who discover a chilling ritual taking place at the isolated residence of their new foster mother.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve just finished watching “Bring Her Back,” starring Sally Hawkins and Billy Barratt. This movie has been making waves since its premiere this month, with many viewers labeling it as a “heart-stopping nightmare,” “truly unsettling,” and even “a horror masterpiece.

Bring Her Back is in cinemas on 30 May in the US and 1 August in the UK.
