Chrissy Teigen shared the reason behind her recent operation, following concerns raised by a social media post featuring her with a bandaged face in a hospital setting on Thursday.

39-year-old model from Sports Illustrated Swimsuit didn’t provide any information about the secretive treatment at first. But on Friday, she revealed that she had a ‘hairline lowering surgery.’

On her Instagram Stories, Chrissy Teigen, John Legend’s spouse, posted a picture highlighting fine stitches near her hairline.

She wrote: “Hello everyone! It’s clear that many of you are curious about the hospital photo I posted, given that I didn’t provide any context. That’s why it’s funny I put ‘lol’!

I underwent a hairline-lowering surgery due to significant hair loss at the front, mostly caused by my children. The hair up there is quite sparse. Whenever you notice me on a red carpet, it’s almost always an extension that makes my hair appear fuller.

Initially, the model had a bandage wrapped beneath her chin, across her cheeks, and on top of her head – all in a beige color.

Initially, it seemed like the actress from Mulligan might have undergone plastic surgery, yet this wasn’t definitively verified until the next day.

Sometimes, a hairline lowering process is alternatively referred to as forehead shortening surgery or scalp move-up operation.

It can be performed for multiple purposes such as addressing a receding hairline or reducing the appearance of a high forehead by shifting the hairline towards the front.

Teigen has previously been candid about the work she has had done. 

In 2021 she alerted fans she had liposuction in her face for a more slender appearance.

Previously, in 2017, she said she had the same procedure on her underarms.

She replied, “They removed fat from under my arm,” in response to being asked about the most unusual treatment she had ever experienced.

According to her, the process increased her arm length by about two inches, making her feel more self-assured when donning sleeveless tops.

Speaking candidly with Refinery29 about her liposuction procedure, she shared: ‘I underwent fat removal from my armpit area, and it was an incredible experience. It’s something I usually keep private, but I no longer feel the need to hide it.’

The model elaborated on the results of the process, labeling it as something rather “foolish” in hindsight. She mentioned that the outcomes weren’t long-lasting and hinted at considering having it done again.

Initially, there were two inches from my armpit, but it has returned now. Unfortunately, this means I’ll need to undergo liposuction once more. It was quite straightforward, she remarked.

Wearing dresses improved my mood and boosted my confidence. It might seem ridiculous or foolish, but I don’t care – I enjoy it and have no regrets about it.

Previously, the model hadn’t shown any signs that she had undergone significant cosmetic procedures, yet she was confident discussing this topic openly.

‘I’m not shy talking about that sort of thing,’ she added. ‘I have no regrets.’

Chrissy later took to Twitter to confirm the armpit procedure actually happened. 

After Chrissy shared on Twitter that she had received Botox injections in her jaws, it was later revealed that this admission was made following the fact that she hadn’t undergone the procedure for cosmetic purposes.

As per Chrissy’s account, the process was carried out to alleviate her frequent jaw clenching – a condition she attributed to former President Donald Trump.

She posted on Twitter, “I too got Botox for my jaw muscle to ease tension from grinding all the time. I wasn’t like this previously.” In response, she wrote, “Pay up, Shameless President.” (This version maintains the original message while using more conversational and easily understood language.)
