Marvel quietly removes three upcoming MCU movie releases following Avengers delay

It appears that Marvel has discreetly adjusted their release plan for three upcoming movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following the postponement of the next two Avengers films.

As a gaming enthusiast, I was all hyped up for the upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” which were initially slated for May 2026 and 2027 respectively. But it seems like I’ll have to wait a bit longer as both movies have been delayed, with “Doomsday” now hitting the screens in December 2026, and “Secret Wars” following suit in December 2027.

I’m thrilled to share that more exciting chapters from the Marvel universe are slated for release on February 13th and November 6th of this upcoming year, as well as on November 7th, 2027. Can’t wait!

Previously scheduled projects have now been taken off the lineup and are being swapped with unnamed Disney productions instead. Since one of these new projects is slated for release in just nine months from now, we’ll likely learn its title soon.

As a result of these modifications, fans can anticipate a gap of approximately one year between the upcoming two MCU films: “Fantastic Four: First Steps”, scheduled for release on 25th July this year, and Tom Holland’s fourth standalone “Spider-Man” film, which is slated for 31st July in the following year.

2028 sure looks packed with Marvel action! I’ve got tickets marked for releases in February, May, and November. Can’t wait to see what they’ve got in store for us gamers!

These latest adjustments are a continuation of remarks made by Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger, regarding the missteps of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after a series of mixed critical and box office reactions.

He shared with investors that, in an effort to increase the variety of content on our streaming service, we’ve been asking our creative teams such as Marvel to generate more productions for us.

Over the course of time, it has become apparent that more is not always better in terms of quality. In other words, excessive production can sometimes lead to a lack of attention to detail and overall quality. To put it plainly, we’ve all acknowledged that we may have strayed from our original goals by producing too much.

Streamlining efforts slightly and directing Marvel’s main emphasis towards their movies could lead to improved overall quality, in my opinion. A prime illustration of this potential is the upcoming project known as Thunderbolts. I am quite optimistic about it.
