Following TopMob’s report, it appears that the hosts of Loose Women are feeling quite anxious due to ITV’s reductions, as they’ve stated the program will be broadcast exclusively during academic terms.

The television personalities Ruth Langsford, Kaye Adams, Nadia Sawalha, and Denise Welch, all in their mid-60s, are reportedly feeling frustrated and concerned over potential threats to their jobs, which has sparked tension off-camera.

Notable television personalities such as Lorraine, aged 65 with a career lasting more than four decades, are reportedly feeling both angry and disrespected due to the recent changes. Meanwhile, members of the Loose Women panel are already expressing concern about potential layoffs.

Beginning in January, the newly implemented policy may result in job losses for approximately 300 employees. The consultation process will start immediately and last until September. Regrettably, those affected will be informed of their departure from the company in December.

According to sources, it’s Christine Lampard, aged 46, who expresses concern about the potential impact on her, as she is responsible for hosting Lorraine when on break and also moderating Loose Women. This means that her annual work commitments could be at risk now.

After spending numerous years on that particular channel, she finds it incredibly demeaning now, given that Good Morning Britain remains unchanged in its schedule, broadcasting each weekday throughout the whole year. Remarkably, her show’s ratings are just as low as theirs.

Reducing the airtime for ‘Loose Women’ and ‘Lorraine’ could significantly impact Christine Lampard, as she hosts both shows. With a large portion of her annual work commitments tied to these programs, any changes in their schedules might jeopardize a significant part of her yearly workload.

TopMob grasps that the team of Loose Women, consisting of more than 20 hosts like Charlene White and Coleen Nolan, foresees no alternative but for the network to release established talents who have dedicated several decades to the show’s creation.

It’s also speculated that panelists who are relatively younger, such as Olivia Attwood (aged 34) and influencer GK Barry (aged 25), might have a better chance of being preferred over more experienced panelists like Janet Street-Porter (aged 78) and Jane Moore (aged 63).

An insider from Loose Women shared: ‘Currently, there are approximately 20 hosts on the program. Some of them have fixed contracts, such as Ruth, Kaye, Nadia, Denise, Janet, and Jane, while others, like Myleene Klass and Sue Cleaver, appear more sporadically.’

Currently, it’s quite challenging to ensure that each participant gets a reasonable amount of airtime and keeps all parties content, while also maintaining their visibility on the screen as much as they desire.

Starting next year, the program will only broadcast for 30 weeks annually, which could lead to job losses among many staff members. With fewer episodes being produced, there might not be enough opportunities available, potentially resulting in long-time presenters who have been with the series for 25 years being replaced on the panel.

ITV asserts that these modifications will enable more financing for series akin to ‘Mr. Bates vs The Post Office’, which bagged three BAFTA TV Awards recently, along with sports programs such as the upcoming World Cup.
