As an utterly devoted flower show enthusiast, I must say this week’s Chelsea Flower Show has been nothing short of extraordinary! Royalty graced our presence with King Charles and Queen Camilla leading the way, accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh, Princess Michael of Kent, and Princess Beatrice, to name a few. Notable personalities like the Prince and Princess of Wales’s nearby neighbors, the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley, also joined us, not forgetting the iconic David Beckham himself! What a delightful gathering it has been!
However, neither Lady Amelia nor Lady Eliza Spencer, the 32-year-old twin daughters of Earl Spencer, have shown up thus far.
This development may have disheartened single men who met Amelia and Eliza at last year’s event, including those who were hoping to win over Eliza despite her long-term relationship with tech executive Channing Millerd, whom she has been with for nine years now. Amelia, you see, got married to her long-time boyfriend Greg Mallett in 2023.
Perhaps Amelia and Eliza harbor some sadness or regret due to the conclusion of their romantic involvement.
Rather than a romantic context, let me clarify their position – they serve as representatives for the jewelry brand Boodles, who are the sponsors of the Raindance Garden during this year’s event.
According to James Amos, the managing director of Boodles, the agreement with the Spencer sisters for a two-year term has now been completed.
Amelia and Eliza, who surprisingly found out this year through DNA testing that they’re actually identical twins, felt thrilled when they landed prestigious, high-paying positions in 2023.
Amelia expressed her affection for what Boodles represents, stating it as “a family-oriented business deeply rooted in tradition and innovation.” Eliza resonated strongly with the values of Boodles, noting that “family symbolizes boundless affection,” which was a reflection she made afterward.

Critics might scoff at them, but those who truly understand these young women would hesitate to do so. Their parents’ marriage disintegrated through a bitter divorce when the twins were just five years old, back in 1997 – the same year that their most illustrious aunt, Princess Diana, met with a tragic and preventable end.
James Amos emphasizes that the twins continue to be ‘close allies’ or ‘loyal supporters’ of the brand, further noting: ‘We had a wonderful time working with them as our representatives.’
Intriguingly, another ‘friend of the brand’ was unmissable in Boodles’ Raindance Garden.
Another representative of the jewelry store was none other than Lady Amelia Windsor, who is often referred to as the “most beautiful royal” by Tatler magazine. She is a granddaughter of the Duke and Duchess of Kent.
Lewis keeps his cool with ‘ranting’ autograph hunters
At the Cannes Film Festival, Denzel Washington found himself in an intense argument with a photographer, whereas Damian Lewis from Homeland seems more adept at maintaining composure.
Upon returning from the Cannes Film Festival, Lewis and his girlfriend, the renowned rock star Alison Mosshart, were reportedly approached by a swarm of autograph seekers at Nice Airport.
According to the witness, this woman persisted relentlessly, unwilling to accept refusal. She grew increasingly frustrated, venting her anger towards him, expressing her belief that they were responsible for his existence and finding his ingratitude unacceptable.
‘She was shouting and finger-jabbing and had people rushing to restrain her.’

Eton-educated Lewis ‘could not have been cooler’, the source says.
He remained composed, even courteous, as he allowed her to express herself freely, subtly making it clear that he didn’t share her views.
How very British.
As a die-hard admirer, let me share a tale: Author extraordinaire Helen Fielding, the brilliant mind behind Bridget Jones, once harbored a dream of owning a grand Californian mansion. Alas, it turned into an unfortunate episode. ‘I used to imagine,’ she confided in the Travel Secrets podcast, ‘that if I were a writer, I’d have my very own swimming pool.’
When the Bridget incident occurred, during that period, a Notting Hill flat would cost you what a house with a swimming pool in LA would set you back. However, the place I bought was more like a movie set, as they might say in Yorkshire – fancy on the outside but lacking substance. As soon as it rained, the roof collapsed and everything broke down.”
This version tries to keep the original meaning while using simpler language and making it easier to read.

Jade pulls plug on Bath show
Model Jade Parfitt regrettably had to call off the eagerly awaited Bath Fashion Festival as it approached, leaving a few weeks behind.
For the event she established, she brought together an impressive array of stars, with a keynote speech from ’90s fashion icon Jodie Kidd among them.
Now, Jade, who is 46 years old, discloses that the festival has been delayed due to a significant supporter withdrawing their support – quite dramatically – at the last minute. She clarifies, “Last week, we unexpectedly lost a major sponsor.” This was a significant setback. As they say, running one’s own business isn’t always a walk in the park.

‘Despite pulling out all the stops, we haven’t been able to bridge the gap in time.’
As someone who’s graced runways for iconic brands like Versace, Chanel, and Alexander McQueen, I can confidently say that we’re committed to bouncing back with renewed vigor. We aim to maintain the same creative flair, unwavering values, and vibrant sense of community that have made this event so exhilarating.
Underneath her long, graceful dress, Dame Helen Mirren concealed a surprise as she walked the red carpet at Cannes last evening.
The Oscar winner was wearing a pair of special shoes for problem feet.

It is revealed that at the age of 79, Dame Helen donned black suede and sparkling “Royalty” platforms from Sole Bliss, a preferred brand for its added padding, just like Queen Camilla does.
She confides in me that large shoes have secretly given her an advantage on the red carpet. They not only add about six inches to her height, but also provide good stability as well.
Since relinquishing his royal duties following the controversial Newsnight interview in 2020, there is an opportunity for Prince Andrew to prove his worth and contribute positively.

As a devoted admirer with a particular interest in aviation, I can’t help but share this exciting opportunity: I’m on the lookout for a skilled helicopter pilot who might have what it takes to join King Charles’s esteemed Royal Household! You see, his brother was the one behind the controls during the Falklands conflict, and his valor left an indelible mark. If you’ve got the passion, skill, and dedication to match, don’t miss out on this chance to be part of history in the making!
According to the advertisement posted on the royal site, ‘The King’s Helicopter Flight’ is a compact group of pilots and ground personnel who provide support. As a skilled multi-engine helicopter pilot, your role would be to serve either as the Pilot in Command or Co-Pilot.
Should be no sweat for the Duke of York.
