Alan Bersten Reveals Secret Romance with Emma Slater After Months of Hiding!

After months of keeping it secret, dance partner duo Alan Bersten and Emma Slater from “Dancing with the Stars” are now openly discussing their new relationship.

30-year-old Bersten and 36-year-old Slater made their romantic connection public for the first time during the final stop of the DWTS Tour on April 19. A widely shared TikTok clip suggests that they sealed their dance routine with an unexpected move… a kiss.

Following their debut in the public eye last month, these professional dancers have been chronicling their shared experiences as a newly formed pair, with their recent adventure being the RBC Brooklyn Half Marathon held in New York City.

On Saturday, a British supporter cheered on Bersten from the sidelines during his debut half marathon, an event organized by New York Road Runners.

Prior to finishing the 13.1-mile run in a little over an hour and a half, Bersten chatted exclusively with the Daily Mail about his preparations for that day and gave a sneak peek into his romance, which has been secretive since autumn, as reported.

Back in October 2024, a source shared with Us Weekly that Slater and Bersten have been spending time together romantically, and this isn’t a recent development; instead, their relationship has been going on for some time.

Speaking about his connection with Slater, the individual from Minnesota expressed, “I’m feeling incredibly content at this moment, and I’m simply filled with gratitude.

Bersten also hinted that there will be more fun snaps of them together in the coming months. 

He joked about his upcoming travels, mentioning that since his birthday is approaching, he’ll take some time off for relaxation.”

“With a wink, he said he has a lot of traveling ahead, but due to his birthday, he plans on having some leisurely moments.”

“In a playful manner, he mentioned that with his birthday coming up, he’s looking forward to taking a break from his busy schedule and enjoying some time off.

This month, Bersten shared with E! News that they are simply cherishing life together without any undue stress or expectations in their relationship.

‘We’re both professionals. So, we’re going to keep it professional,’ he added.

From the years 2018 to 2022, Slater was wedded to Sasha Farber. However, she initiated the divorce process in February 2023, and the divorce became official in May 2024.

At the moment, dancer Farber is in a relationship with his partner from Dancing With the Stars season 33, Jenn Tran, who also appeared on The Bachelorette. Since he resides in Los Angeles and she has returned to Miami, their romance has evolved into a long-distance one.

Bersten expressed his enthusiasm by saying, “I find it fantastic! To be completely candid, I’ve essentially been in training mode since the tour concluded, which means I haven’t attended many events. However, I’m genuinely pleased for everyone.

‘Everyone deserves love, and so I’m excited. I’m happy for them.’ 

After a brief holiday hiatus, the Dancing with the Stars Tour commenced on January 7th, traveling to a total of 68 locations across the nation. The tour ended approximately four months later in Rosemont, Illinois.

Upcoming in September, we’ll see the return of season 34 of the reality competition series, but a specific air date hasn’t been made public yet.

During Disney Entertainment Television’s Get Real Event held on April 22nd, it was announced that the new season had begun and Robert Irwin was unveiled as the initial famous contender participating in the program this season.

Additionally, it has been disclosed that Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro will once again take on their hosting roles. As for the judges, it remains uncertain at this time if Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough will reprise their positions from last season.

As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my excitement over the prospect of Irwin being on the roster for the upcoming season! Bersten himself has labeled it as a massive coup, and yet, the top female pros seem to be keeping their cards close to their chests about partnering with him. If only I could persuade one of them to dance with Irwin, my heart would be completely content!

He seems to believe that every girl is hesitant to express this thought for fear of tempting fate. He strongly feels that Robert will be a strong competitor right from the start, as he’s incredibly endearing, he expressed.

He has his sister, Bindi, who won Season 21, and she’ll lend a hand. He’s truly a wonderful individual, and it’s hard not to root for someone so kind. I have a strong feeling that he’ll accomplish great things.

According to The Daily Mail, Jordan Hudson, Bill Belichick’s girlfriend, was invited to participate in a show, but is expected to turn it down because it coincides with the fall season, when Belichick will be coaching and she prefers to support him during his duties at the University of North Carolina.

Bersten shared his perspective with the Daily Mail, saying, ” frankly, it seems exciting. It’s always uncertain who will turn out to be great until they prove themselves. Expectations can be both beneficial and detrimental.

‘It’s delightful when someone defies your negative expectations, but it can be disheartening when someone doesn’t meet positive ones.’

He commented, “Every celebrity who appears on the show tends to be either exceptionally kind or incredibly talented. Moreover, Deena Katz, our casting director, is truly exceptional at what she does, which results in each season being increasingly impressive.

For his part, Bersten is still uncertain whether he’ll dance again next season or which of the professional dancers will continue to perform.

He expressed his hope to return and mentioned that it’s uncertain at the moment. He seems to feel that everyone desires to join the production as it’s an exceptional series. In his opinion, it’s an outstanding family, and he considers himself fortunate to be involved in such a remarkable show. Every time they invite him back, he feels like his dreams are being fulfilled.

There’s uncertainty about whether Artem Chigvintsev may come back, as he wasn’t invited to join the cast for season 33, following an alleged domestic violence incident with Nikki Bella – a matter that has since been dropped.

Frankly speaking, it’s been some time since we last talked. I sincerely hope he’s doing well. As for whether anyone else is back in the picture, I’m unsure. But I genuinely wish the best for everyone. To clarify, I haven’t been in contact with him. That doesn’t mean our friendship has ended; we just haven’t kept in touch recently.

The final episode of Dancing With The Stars Season 33 aired on November 26, and Joey Graziadei along with his dance partner Jenna Johnson were declared the winners, taking home the Mirror Ball trophy. Meanwhile, Brusten and his partner Ilona Maher ended up in second place, while Brandon Armstrong and Chandler Kinney finished third.

Bersten expresses his gratitude for having someone as enjoyable and dedicated as Maher because she is both fun and a strong worker. He also mentions Jennifer Love Hewitt, Paige Bueckers from the WNBA, and gymnast Livvy Dunne as potential partners he hopes to work with in the future, referring to them as his dream collaborations.

When inquired about his plans for the upcoming season, he disclosed, “I’m quite a competitive individual, yet it’s essential to remember that victory isn’t the only thing. The experience throughout this journey has been remarkable, and I often remind others that first place is the least desirable, while second is the most rewarding.

The focus is on enjoying the journey itself. Winning would simply be an added bonus, but honestly, it’s less about that and more about creating unforgettable moments.

On Saturday, Bersten ran the Brooklyn Half Marathon, and who was there to cheer him on? None other than Slater!

During the Dancing with the Stars tour, the professional dancer began his training regimen by running on treadmills. When he got back to Los Angeles, he then intensified his training to its fullest extent.

He shared that his affection for running has been constant throughout, but he hadn’t considered participating in a half marathon or a full marathon. However, when his friend embarked on training, he found himself saying, “Count me in!” The experience has turned out to be incredibly enjoyable for him.

Before training for the marathon began, he said he ‘never ran more than six miles.’  

Currently, he’s working with a fitness coach to prepare him for a half marathon. Bersten expressed, “I strongly believe that physical activity benefits not just the body, but the mind as well. For me personally, I find great pleasure in exercise.

I’ve always enjoyed running, yet I haven’t run for the purpose of completing a half marathon. Running becomes significantly easier and more enjoyable when there’s a goal involved, rather than just going for a casual jog. Now, I’m thrilled that I’ve finally incorporated running with a specific aim into my routine.
