In a short span of time following its addition, Sally Lindsay’s British thriller “Love Rat” has seen a significant rise in popularity on the streaming platforms.
A four-episode show that aired on Channel 5 last year features a previous Coronation Street actor portraying Emma, a woman recently divorced, who develops feelings for the charming hotel proprietor Niko (Gerald Kyd) during her vacation in Cyprus.
Niko requests a temporary loan to finalize the purchase of a villa, which Emma willingly provides.
However, Niko vanished along with her funds and aspirations for a fresh start. Desperate to recover both, she embarks on a quest to find him, leading her into a shady realm of swindlers where nothing is as it appears. Along the way, she uncovers a darker truth and fights relentlessly for justice.
Since its debut on Netflix on May 18th, the series “Love Rat” has quickly climbed up the streaming service’s rankings. At the moment, it holds the fourth spot among the top 10 television shows in the United Kingdom.
Despite bringing in the viewing numbers for Netflix, reactions to the show have been mixed.
Some viewers found the show, titled “Love Rat“, to be highly unrealistic, while others praised it as an engaging, enjoyable drama that was easy on the eyes.
Currently, Lindsay is back on our screens with the fourth season of “The Madame Blanc Mysteries,” where she plays the role of Jean White, an antique dealer who also solves mysteries.
On an appearance before the April debut of its fourth season, the actor shared insights into Jean’s dynamic with Dom, portrayed by Steve Edge, on “The One Show”.
She mentioned that they aimed to portray an established couple who, unlike younger couples, are content with their lives without the desire for children or the intention of cohabitating extensively; instead, they prefer to enjoy a laid-back lifestyle together.
As a curious observer dwelling within the bustling community, I find myself intrigued by their private world. I wish to discreetly observe their journey, giving them all the time they need without any pressure or interference. They are free to make their own decisions and follow their hearts.
