FC Pro World Championship to be held at the Esports World Cup

Get ready for the biggest FC Pro event of the year.

It’s been revealed that the 2023 FC Pro World Championship will transpire during the summertime Esports World Cup happening in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The competition is scheduled to unfold from August 7th through the 10th.

An extra FC Pro tournament, known as the FC Pro Last Chance Qualifier, is set to take place from July 31 to August 2. This competition serves as a qualifier for the World Championship, granting entry to four participants. Furthermore, this event offers a cash reward as well.

FC Pro World Championship schedule

Including the extra LCQ, this occasion extends into one of the longest events ever held in FC Pro chronicles. Here’s a breakdown of the schedule:

The LCQ extension makes this event among the lengthiest in FC Pro records. Below is the itinerary for the event:

  • Thursday, July 31st – First set of 256 LCQ Competitors will play until 64 remain.
  • Friday, August 1st – Second set of 256 LCQ Competitors will play until 64 remain.
  • Saturday, August 2nd – The remaining 128 LCQ competitors will play until 5 remain.
  • Sunday, August 3rd – Play-Ins.
  • Thursday, August 7th – World Championship Groups.
  • Friday, August 8th – World Championship Groups & Round of 16.
  • Saturday, August 9th – World Championship Quarterfinals.
  • Sunday, August 10th – World Championship Semifinals, Third Place Match, and Finals.

The Last Chance Qualifier could feature over 500 players

This summer, the updated tournament structure offers an opportunity for anyone to fight for a slot at the FC Pro World Championship. Initially, there could be as many as 512 participants in the qualifying rounds. These rounds will be conducted using a double elimination system, progressing five players to the play-ins.

Players participating in LCQ tournaments will need to sign up on start.gg between May 20th and May 26th. During this period, registration is available for the top 384 players from the FC Pro Open Cups leaderboards. Those selected will receive the necessary information to complete their registration. From May 27th until July 21st, registration will be open to any aspiring world champions.
