Ella-Mae Rayner of Gladiators Gets Engaged in a Dreamy Corfu Proposal!

Gladiators star Ella-Mae Rayner has announced her engagement to her partner James Exton.

Yesterday, the 30-year-old, once a renowned gymnast, shared joyful updates about her life on Instagram with her fans.

She posted a collection of touching photos capturing the instant when her partner, James (who happens to be her personal trainer), proposed to her during their vacation in beautiful Corfu, Greece.

In the photos, Ella-Mae, who is famously called Comet on Gladiators, appeared extremely delighted. She placed her hand over her mouth in astonishment and smiled broadly from one ear to another.

She presented an elegant silhouette in a stylish baby-blue wrap dress, and James knelt gracefully during their boat voyage near the island’s shore.

Ella-Mae squinted behind a pair of dark sunglasses while lavishing affection on her new partner, enjoying their romantic interlude together.

James, the proprietor of a fitness coaching enterprise, presented a sharp and fashionable image, dressed in a tasteful cream shirt matched with complementary pants.

Ella-Mae flaunted her dazzling diamond ring with its big, square-shaped gemstone, snuggling close to James aboard the vessel.

In a related note, she disclosed the date of their engagement, expressing her excitement: ‘May 17, 25. Yes, in every life we live together. I will always love you.’

In July 2022, Ella-Mae started going out with James, and she frequently posts affectionate photos of them as a couple on her Instagram account.

James, along with his identical twin brother Tom, operates a business focused on health and fitness, named LDN Muscle. Additionally, he’s had the opportunity to model for the fashion brand Amiri during Paris Fashion Week.

In addition, Ella-Mae, originally from Hertfordshire, previously practiced gymnastics, dived on high boards, and cheered competitively at a national level.

In the year 2023, she became a part of the revamped version of the iconic game show Gladiators by BBC. Currently, she appears on the program as the powerful contestant known as Comet, earning comparisons to the original Jet character (as Diane Youdale was known).

As a devoted follower, I can attest that being a Gladiator embodies all that I am and all I’ve strived to become, as expressed by Ella May in her interview with Radio Times.

‘She embodies a blend of grace and power. Her constant smile and warm demeanor might initially give the impression of gentleness, but do not let that fool you. She possesses formidable strength, especially in the competitive arenas where she consistently shines.’

Due to a severe accident on set that resulted in multiple fractures to both her ankle and foot, she had no choice but to withdraw from the 2024 series production.

Following the injury, she wrote on Instagram: ‘To my fellow Gladiators, family, and close friends. 

I’m having a hard time finding the right words to express just how grateful I am to each and every one of you. From the deepest part of my being, I can’t imagine receiving any more kindness, affection, and encouragement than what you’ve shown me during the performance.

‘You have all shown what it truly means to be a team.’

The BBC is bringing back the show “Gladiators” for a second revival, having first been produced for Sky One in 2008, more than two decades after its initial run on ITV from 1992 to 2000.
