My 600lb Life Star’s Tragic Final Warning Before Death!

600-pound Life celebrity Latonya Pottain was given a sobering, last-chance health advisory by physicians about two years prior to her passing at the age of 40.

In 2023, Pottain, who was featured on season 11 of the TLC show while weighing 632lbs, passed away on Saturday, May 17, at CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center, located in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The preliminary autopsy report found Pottain died from congestive heart failure.

Bariatric specialist Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, also recognized as Dr. Now, strongly advised Pottain to make significant modifications to her dietary choices following a hospitalization due to leg discomfort resulting from further weight gain.

Through the use of prescribed medication and a carefully managed diet, she successfully lowered her weight to 594 lbs; however, Doctor Now issued a grave caution, emphasizing that further weight loss was essential to avoid potential complications.

He mentioned that the echocardiogram indicates that all four chambers of the heart are stretched beyond their normal capacity and working too hard.

Due to your current weight, both your heart and lungs are experiencing strain. Specifically, your heart is working harder than normal, while your lung capacity is limited compared to what it could be at a healthier weight.

‘So this is a time for you to learn what the healthy eating habits should be.

‘You can’t go back to what you like to eat and what you consider to be a healthy food.

‘We got your heart at a critical place over the past couple of weeks.

However, should you cease shedding pounds, your heart may find itself in a precarious state once more, quite swiftly.

As a committed follower, I encourage myself to reassess and adapt my home routines due to an unwanted pattern in my eating habits that seems to be hindering weight loss. Let’s embark on this journey of change together!

‘No excuses, because you’re running out of time.’

She also memorably clashed with Dr Now over her dislike of the healthy hospital food.

Pottain stated, “I haven’t had much food since I arrived.” The doctor reassured him saying, “You won’t disappear. You’ll be just fine.

In a more conversational manner, Pottain might say, “I haven’t had anything to eat yet,” and in response, Dr Now could say, “Actually, it seems like you’ve consumed the meals for the upcoming four years prematurely.

According to Pottain’s brother, they along with other relatives paid a visit to her house on Saturday morning. They observed that she was struggling to breathe and seemed very uneasy. Furthermore, he mentioned that she did not appear healthy.

As a devoted follower, I received a call from Pottain’s brother later on, informing me that an ambulance had been summoned by Pottain herself due to a sudden cardiac arrest. Sadly, this event ultimately resulted in her passing away at the hospital.

Pottain first appeared on the show in 2023 when her weight had left her mostly bedbound.

As I found myself in trying circumstances one morning, Pottain expressed relief when she said that having food alleviated her stress. This was evident as her caretaker served her breakfast in bed.

She said: ‘That’s what I do to help me cope with things.

As a wellness connoisseur, I acknowledge the reality that the choices I’ve been making regarding my diet aren’t beneficial for my health. Yet, breaking free from my deeply ingrained habits seems like an uphill battle. The frustration sets in as I find myself grappling with this less-than-ideal state of affairs.

Five years ago, at age 482lbs, she paid a visit to Dr. Younan Nowzaradan on his TV show, but ultimately chose not to continue with the weight loss program.

Regardless of her lifelong resolve to overcome her weight issues and transform her lifestyle, Pottain found adhering to the stringent new diet challenging. On several occasions, she was spotted indulging in fried foods, which ultimately resulted in an increase in her weight at her subsequent weigh-in.

Last year Pottain took to Facebook to ask for prayers due to her heart issues.

She asked: “Could everyone please say a prayer for me, as my heart isn’t functioning correctly and doctors here in Louisiana can’t do anything more. I would appreciate it if you could keep me in your thoughts.

This year, she initiated a GoFundMe campaign to secure immediate medical attention, also disclosing that her current weight had surpassed 700 pounds.

she’s nearly reached her heaviest weight of 740 lbs, a figure she worked tirelessly to decrease. As of now, she’s approximately 705 lbs, and she’s been confined to bed since June 2024 due to serious health complications.

Following the broadcast of the show, I faced an intense wave of criticism that plunged me into a profound depression. This adversely affected my emotional well-being, causing me to develop a phobia about having weight loss surgery.

2023 saw me relocate to Houston, yearning for a new beginning. However, what unfolded was quite unexpected – I landed in a toxic relationship and received the heart-wrenching news about my dad’s cancer diagnosis.

After enduring an overwhelming emotional and physical strain, I found myself making the journey back home to Louisiana. Regrettably, my health predicament worsened, and I was beset with intense sciatica nerve pain that brought about acute abdominal cramping. My doctor suggested fentanyl as a treatment, yet my body proved resistant to this medication. As a result, I embarked on a therapeutic journey to find relief and regain control over my wellbeing.

Currently, I’m confined to bed as I can’t visit the hospital myself because EMTs consider transporting me risky due to my excessive weight, posing a potential fire hazard. Unfortunately, I don’t earn enough to buy a vehicle or organize specialized medical transport.

I’m reaching out to you for assistance in gathering funds for: Essential transport services to hospitals, as I require immediate medical attention.

‘Proper medical treatment and rehabilitation to regain my mobility

‘Basic living expenses since I am currently unable to work

‘I’ve been going through an extremely challenging time, and I am determined to battle for my wellbeing and existence. Every little bit you can give will bring me one step closer to the vital care that I urgently require. If you can’t donate, please share my story to help me secure the aid I desperately need.’

The $20,000 appeal raised a little over $1000.
