Clash of Clans TV Series Announced by Netflix
Ever since Supercell’s “Clash of Clans” made its debut on mobile devices way back in 2012, I’ve been hooked! This engaging fantasy real-time strategy game lets me step into the role of a village chief, tasked with protecting and expanding my civilization. Exciting news is on the horizon for fellow fans as they plan to release a new “Clash of Clans” board game. And here’s another piece of fantastic news: Netflix is set to bring “Clash of Clans” to life as an animated series! Can’t wait to see how this beloved game translates onto the small screen.
The mobile gaming sensations, Clash of Clans and its sequel, Clash Royale, continue to captivate countless gamers. These games are free-to-play with additional in-app purchases, boasting impressive ratings from their enthusiastic fanbase. It’s evident that these games have enduring appeal, and Netflix is banking on this popularity for their upcoming animated series. The Clash of Clans official YouTube channel has announced the news with a brief video showcasing the strong demand among fans for a television adaptation of the game.
As a passionate gamer, I’m super excited about the upcoming Netflix series based on my favorite mobile game, Clash of Clans! According to Variety, the show will be named “Clash,” focusing on a Barbarian character who rallies his clan to protect their village. It sounds like it’s going to be set in the same world as the original game and its spinoff, Clash Royale. At this point, they’re still in pre-production, so we don’t have a release date or timeline yet. Can’t wait to see how this turns out!
It’s clear that Fletcher Moules has been appointed as the showrunner, and Ron Weiner will serve as the head writer for this upcoming series. Interestingly, this isn’t Moules’ initial venture into the world of Clash of Clans, given their past work on the popular animated YouTube video series related to the game. ICON Creative Studio is set to oversee the animation aspect.
It’s not just this particular video game that’s slated for a Netflix series; in fact, Netflix is also developing series for “Magic: The Gathering” and “Dungeons & Dragons”. Netflix has already produced a variety of both animated and live-action series based on video games, and it seems they aim to continue this trend. Beyond shows derived from games, Netflix offers mobile games as part of their subscription package, with original projects like the forthcoming relaxing MMO being among them.
