Peppa Pig is a big sister once again after the birth of her baby sibling on Tuesday.

Parents Piggy Mom and Piggy Dad shared delightful news on Good Morning Britain, disclosing that their new addition, a little pig named Evie, has joined the family.

And now the heartwarming inspiration behind little Evie’s moniker can be revealed. 

During the television broadcast, Richard Arnold from GMB excitedly stated, “Peppa’s new baby sister, Evie, was recently shown in some photos by Daddy Pig. The name Evie was chosen to honor Aunt Evie of Mummy Pig.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but notice that Aunt Evie, though absent from the screen in our beloved TV cartoon, somehow shares an intimate bond with Mummy Pig. Despite Grandpa and Granny Pig being the main characters, it seems Aunt Evie plays a significant role in the lives of the pigs off-camera.

During her pregnancy, the mother of three confided that she and Daddy Pig found it challenging to find a suitable name for their upcoming third piglet.

‘We’ve got SO many ideas for names. Too many, frankly!’ she confessed to Grazia.

Discovering she’s a girl makes our choices more limited – I’m not convinced Peter, Percy, or Patrick are suitable names for a girl.

However, we find it hard to decide right now. Once she’s here and gazing at us, especially at Daddy Pig, we’ll instinctively know the ideal name for her. This is exactly how we chose names for Peppa and George when they were born.

Parents of Peppa, who is now 4 years old, and her younger brother George, aged 2, are Mummy and Daddy Pig. In the month of April, viewers were surprised and excited when they learned Peppa’s true name, causing quite a stir among fans.

Even though the beloved TV character has been on air for an impressive 21 years, it’s only now that viewers are discovering that ‘Peppa’ is actually her middle name.

With her full name being: Pepperius Peppa Pig, as reported by Good Find Toys.

Many were astonished by the disclosure and responded on X with posts such as: ‘The fact that Peppa Pig’s actual name is Pepperius Pepa Pig has me shouting in surprise!’

The birth was officially declared in a regal manner, reminiscent of traditional royal birth announcements. It included a town crier, a scroll-style declaration, and the presentation of an authentic Peppa Pig birth certificate.

The larger siblings Peppa and George appear to be thrilled beyond belief and eager to encounter their freshly arrived little sister. On the other hand, Mummy and Daddy Pig seem to anticipate numerous joyful snorts and restless nights ahead.

According to GMB, it appears that Mummy Pig is taking a break right now. However, they’ve mentioned that Daddy Pig will be available for a first-ever TV interview next week. This means we’ll get another peek at the newest family member as well!
