The Traitors star Amanda Lovett admits surprise reunion “wasn’t plain sailing”

Actress Amanda Lovett from the show “The Traitors” revealed that reuniting unexpectedly with her former spouse, Justin, wasn’t an effortless journey.

She gained popularity following her debut on the initial season of “The Traitors” in 2022, where it was revealed that she had been clandestinely selected as a Traitor by the show’s presenter, Claudia Winkleman.

Amanda spoke candidly about her rekindled relationship with her current spouse (who is also her former husband) on the “Suddenly Single” episode of the “Best Magazine” podcast when she was interviewed by Siobhan Wykes.

She mentioned that things weren’t easy for her, but her partner has consistently stood by her side, offering support, becoming a pillar of strength, and showing genuine concern for her well-being. They eventually started discussing their past issues, and it was remarkable that he took the time to listen attentively, just as she did in return.

On Saturdays, when Amanda was a single mom, Justin would win her over by buying her groceries and delivering them in a bag. This is how he showed his affection.

She mentioned: “You understand, right? Being a single mom is indeed romantic. He managed to win me over again with a bottle of M&S Prosecco.

The very moment I saw myself on “The Traitors,” I couldn’t help but reflect upon a skill I hadn’t fully recognized – my knack for telling tales. It wasn’t until my loved ones pointed it out that I began to appreciate this hidden talent of mine.

In a gathering with my family, including my kids and grandkids, they commented, “Wow, you’re quite skilled at hiding the truth.” To which I replied, “Well, it’s not exactly lying; it’s more like keeping secrets. We all do it regarding Santa Claus,” she explained.

During her time on the game show, Amanda reminisced about the memorable phrase she told her fellow suspect, Wilf Webster (who she thought would backstab her). This iconic quote became associated with her as a symbol during her era.

Women often have an intuition about things. I asked him, ‘Can you tell me what’s on the Welsh flag?’ He replied, ‘A dragon.’ I responded, ‘If you betray me, that’s exactly how it will feel.’ As a result of that exchange, I became known as a gay icon.

The first three seasons of “The Traitors” are currently available for streaming on BBC iPlayer, and it’s been officially announced that a celebrity version will follow suit.
