Death in Paradise-style “cosy” detective show confirms exciting new-season update
The Marlow Murder Club will return to screens with an all-new series.
The British network, UKTV, has confirmed that the detective series featuring Jo Martin and Samantha Bond will continue for a third season. Already in progress is the production of this new installment.
In the upcoming season, Cara Horgan and Natalie Dew will once again take on their characters, Becks Starling and detective Tanika Malik respectively. They’ll be joined by other main cast members including Holli Dempsey, Phill Langhorne, and Tijan Sarr.
What to Read Next
Now, retired archaeologist Judith Potts (Bond), dog walker Suzie Harris (Jo Martin), vicar’s wife Becks Starling (Horgan), and newly added DI Tanika Malik (Dew) make up a unique crime-solving team. They are returning with their unusual approaches to tackle a series of high-profile homicides, as suggested by the show’s official summary.
After the release of season 2 in April this year, we’re moving forward with the recommission. The third season of “The Marlow Murder Club” will consist of six episodes, featuring three fresh murder mysteries. Each mystery will span across two episodes as they unravel.
Starting from the unexpected demise of Marlow’s most cherished Mayor, a man admired by all, to a renowned chef discovered deceased at his cookbook launch with many townsfolk present, the team will be operating under the vigilant gaze of the community in Marlow.
At a university reunion held in a mysterious mansion, they will be put into action. Intriguingly, our detective figure, Becks, discovers herself among the potential culprits in an unexpected turn of events. Might this investigation jeopardize the positions of our civilian consultants?
The “Marlow Murder Club” is derived from the popular book series of the same title, penned by Robert Thorogood, who’s also known for creating “Death in Paradise” and collaborating on its spin-offs “Beyond Paradise” and “Return to Paradise”.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that season three will be inspired by the third novel in our beloved franchise, “Queen of Poisons.” Excitingly, Thorogood is teaming up with Daniel Rusteau to pen the first two episodes of this upcoming chapter, making it all the more captivating!
The Marlow Murder Club has been referred to as “cozy” in reviews by Decider and The Daily Telegraph, while Digital Spy gave season 2 three stars, commending the finale that left viewers wanting to learn more about these characters.
The specific launch date hasn’t been announced just yet, but you can anticipate the new season coming to U and U&DRAMA in the year 2026.
The Marlow Murder Club seasons 1 and 2 are available on U now.
