Jesy Nelson’s Unexpected Baby Name Reveal Stuns Fans with Hidden Meaning Behind Jade

It appears that Jesy Nelson subtly paid tribute to her old Little Mix bandmate by unveiling the distinctive names she chose for her newborn twin girls.

33-year-old singer shared on social media, three days post her premature delivery, the names of her newborn daughters – Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster.

Actually, there had been an assumption that the name ‘Jade’ was a nod to Jade Thirlwall from Little Mix; however, it seems that’s not the truth.

Actually, the origin of the name holds a personal connection, as Jesy named her daughter in honor of her beloved older sister, Jade, who shares a strong bond with her.

According to a source, the unique name selection occurred while the parents spent extended time at the hospital over the past two months, waiting for their twins to mature enough prior to birth, and these names were eventually chosen during that period.

Jade’s middle name was predestined, seeing as Jesy shares a strong bond with her sister. This choice is more of a tribute to her sister than any other reason.

In the meantime, it’s been verified that Jesy, her partner Zion Foster, and their newborn daughters are still at the hospital after the birth, and they might need to stay there for a while longer.

They reported: ‘They’ll stay in the hospital for a bit longer, but they’re delighting in being with their newborn babies. Jesy and Zion are overjoyed and ecstatic that the twins have safely made it into the world and are healthy.’

TopMob have contacted representatives of Jesy for comment.

Jesy was admitted to the hospital back in late March following a diagnosis of twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) – an uncommon health issue that may jeopardize the wellbeing of either or both infants.

However, she assured everyone that both girls were secure and healthy following her Instagram post a few days after an early delivery.

In a heartwarming update, Jesy unveiled the charming monikers of her newly-arrived little ones to her whopping 9.7 million followers, accompanied by two endearing snapshots showcasing the couple tenderly holding their newborn bundles of joy.

She wrote: ‘Indeed… Our charming little daughters chose to arrive at 31 weeks and 5 days. The events unfolded swiftly, yet we’re overjoyed that they’re now with us, thriving and showing great resilience! We’ve never felt more deeply in love.’

‘Everybody meet Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster.’

In my perspective, I’ve always admired the name Ocean, which hails from ancient Greek roots (keanós). It carries connotations of immense power and shrouded mysteries, yet it transcends these notions to represent fresh starts and nurturing hope as well.

The couple chose Ocean as their daughter’s middle name, Jade, which is the name of one of her ex-bandmates; this was perceived as a possible gesture of reconciliation towards her former friend.

In 2020, following her departure from Little Mix, Jesy chose to step back and maintain a distance from bandmates Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.

The name chosen for her second child, Story, reflects her association with grandeur, inventiveness, and exploration. This name originates from the Old Norse word ‘storr’, which signifies ‘great’ or ‘big’.

Her middle name, Monroe, has roots in both Scottish and Irish Gaelic, being a gender-neutral name that translates to “the mouth of the River Roe,” referring to a specific waterway in Northern Ireland. Additionally, there’s an undercurrent of Hollywood allure associated with it, as Marilyn Monroe is synonymous with the name.

In March, Jesy experienced complications during pregnancy that necessitated an immediate medical intervention. Her doctors strongly recommended she stay in the hospital until she reached a minimum of 32 weeks gestation.

During this challenging experience, Zion acknowledged that he and Jesy, who was seven months pregnant during the surgery, had grown to comprehend one another more profoundly.

In my expertise, I’d say that during challenging times, you truly grasp the depth of the love you share and the significance of your relationship.

For both me and Jess, it feels like we’ve reached an extraordinary understanding that confirms our deep compatibility.

He said the couple had also tried to make the hospital as much of a home as possible.

We moved a convertible couch adjacent to the hospital bed, creating a makeshift double bed for us.

Furthermore, they remarked as if welcoming us home, saying, “Oh, my goodness! This place has such a warm and inviting feel to it.

The couple revealed Nelson’s TTTS diagnosis in March.

Later on, Nelson wept as she disclosed that her condition required surgery due to a worsening of her symptoms.

She shared that unfortunately, the symptoms have deteriorated, necessitating a procedure, although this wasn’t our desired outcome. It’s crucial because it increases the chances of our babies thriving.

‘So we’re just waiting to go in and we’re just hoping and praying for the best really.

‘I feel absolutely gutted because I was really hoping we wouldn’t be in this position.

‘It’s obviously really scary because there’s so many things that can happen. Pray for us, please.’

Prof. Asma Khalil, an expert in Obstetrics and Maternal-Fetal Medicine at St George’s Hospital, University of London, advises families dealing with a comparable circumstance to Nelson and his partner to reach out to the charity, Twins Trust, for resources and assistance.

She mentioned that TTTS, or twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, is a severe condition that impacts approximately 10 to 15% of identical twins who share a placenta, also known as monochorionic twins.
