Nicole Kidman Blows Red Carpet with Epic Wig Fail at Cannes

Nicole Kidman has long worn wigs for her numerous film roles.

however, during the 2025 Kering Women In Motion Awards and Cannes Film Festival Presidential Dinner on Sunday, the actress experienced a significant setback when her hairpiece became noticeable.

In the movie Moulin Rouge!, the actress styled her naturally reddish hair with extensions to increase its fullness and create a fresher, younger appearance.

Nonetheless, the mesh underneath Nicole’s wig showed through during the red carpet photos even though her actual hair was braided within it.

Many famous personalities in Hollywood sometimes use wigs or hairpieces to maintain a younger-looking hairstyle, since the natural thickness and volume of their hair may decrease due to aging.

Nicole also showed off her smooth visage at the event with a natural makeup palette.

At the private gathering where she received the 2025 Kering Women in Motion Award, the actress elegantly displayed a stylish and modest red gown while striking poses for photographers, showcasing both her sexiness and modesty.

For over a decade, this honor has been bestowed upon women who have achieved remarkable advancements in cinema.

Upon receiving the honor, Nicole expressed her intention to persistently utilize her influence to advocate for ongoing gender equality within the movie business.

She said: ‘I’m just an advocate and want to continue to keep moving forward with that.’

Previous winners of the Women in Motion Award include Susan Sarandon and Salma Hayek.

Nicole expressed: “I feel honored to be included alongside the exceptional women who’ve received this recognition ahead of me – artists and pioneers whom I greatly respect.

For more than three decades, the Cannes Film Festival has been an integral part of my existence. I’m ecstatically happy to include this remarkable accolade among the multitude of cherished moments I’ve gathered during my time here.

Nicole donned a second eye-catching outfit of the day when she delivered her speech for the award, following an all-black attire earlier.

This outfit featured a snug leather jacket and dark jeans, accentuated with a wide belt.

In 2017, the actress pledged that every 18 months, she would collaborate with a female director, demonstrating her dedication to supporting women in the film industry.

After that, she disclosed, she’s been collaborating with 27 different women on various undertakings, some of which are still unreleased.

She stated that part of it involves creating a protective and supportive barrier around the women, much like a shield.

Nicole has been among the most prominent figures in Hollywood ever since she kicked off her acting career with the Australian movie “Bush Christmas” all the way back in 1983, while she was yet to become an adult.

After that, she’s been featured prominently in numerous hit films such as Eyes Wide Shut from 1999 and Moulin Rouge! which was released in 2001.

Among Nicole’s latest works include “Babygirl,” the murder mystery series “The Perfect Couple” on Netflix, the second season of “Lioness,” and the romantic comedy “A Family Affair.

After portraying numerous roles throughout her career, she confessed at Cannes that she would welcome the opportunity to star in a TV series encompassing all those characters.
