The “old” men gang strikes again! Tokido wins a big SF6 EWC 2025 qualifier
At the Street Fighter 6 tournament during the Asian Champions League 2025, two qualifying positions were up for grabs. Tokido had arrived with a determined mindset, aiming to demonstrate once more that he stands supreme.
A week ago, I emerged victorious from the TEKKEN 8 tournament at Evo Japan 2025. Sparking a discussion within the fighting games community (FGC) about the outdated standards of esports age limits, I’m proof that you can still claim big wins in your 40s.
In addition to his argument, Tokido provides an additional convincing factor – despite Murderface appearing uninterested, the Street Fighter 6 esports scene hasn’t truly seen the last of the legend.
2025’s SF6 Asian Champions League victory was nothing short of spectacular! It wasn’t just another tournament; it was one of the major qualifiers for the Esports World Cup 2025. Despite fierce competition, Tokido didn’t have to fight for a spot in the EWC 2025 because he had already qualified through his outstanding performance at the Capcom Cup 11. However, that didn’t stop him from demonstrating his dominance!
Street Fighter 6 Asian Champions League 2025
A significant number of prominent SF6 participants from around the globe graced the Asian Champions League in the year 2025. Two openings for the Esports World Cup 2025 serve as a powerful incentive!
At Evo Japan 2025, MenaRD triumphed in Street Fighter 6 and subsequently chose to play Blanka once more. However, he encountered A.K.I. of Hikaru in the top brackets and unfortunately lost the game. Later on, MenaRD decided to use M. Bison, but his run ended when he was defeated by Guile from the Dominican Republic.
In the initial round, Tokido overcame Leshar, a fresh addition to his Reject squad. Subsequently, he annihilated Rainpro during the semifinals and bested Moke in the championship match.
In a more engaging tone, let me rephrase: The climactic showdown was exceptionally thrilling. Higuchi, who previously ousted Daigo, flipped the script and demonstrated an astonishing display of power, applying relentless pressure with Guile’s Sonic Boom. Just when it seemed all was lost, Tokido staged a remarkable comeback to claim victory in the tournament!
2025’s Asian Championship League for SF6 showcased the dominance of a select few players. Cunningness was evident everywhere. Tokido faced this opponent twice in the elite top 8 brackets. Moke managed to reach the final three with his Mai, making FATAL FURY a significant character at the pinnacle of Street Fighter competition.
In the present top tier, it was Tokido facing off with Ken. During the winner’s quarterfinals, he battled against another player named Armperor, a fellow Ken player. By now, you should be aware of who emerged victorious in this matchup!
SF6 Esports World Cup 2025 qualifier
At the Capcom Cup 11, Tokido secured his place at the EWC 2025. Consequently, the second and third-place finishers in the Street Fighter 6 Asian Champions League 2025 can also be considered winners!
Or
Tokido qualified for the EWC 2025 by finishing first at the Capcom Cup 11. This means that the players who took 2nd and 3rd place in the Street Fighter 6 Asian Champions League 2025 can also be deemed victorious!
Higuchi and Moke are among the SF6 Esports World Cup 2025 participants!
Tokido and the legendary team of Reject
This year on July 7, Tokido turns 40 years old. He’s amassed numerous high-tier trophies, and it’s clear that he still craves even more victories.
In the world of esports, no competitor can maintain a perpetual winning streak. Everyone experiences highs and lows in their gaming journey, but Tokido remains among the greats even after many years. Interestingly, he clinched victory at the Japan Super Premier in 2024 – one of the most competitive Street Fighter VI tournaments and also a qualifier for Capcom Cup 11.
Approximately a year past, Tokido affiliated with Reject, a renowned Japanese esports group. Following the Evo Japan 2025 tournament, four legendary fighting game players—Daigo, Leshar, and Fuudo joined forces with him for a team event in the Street Fighter 6 League.
The Reject SFL 2025 reveal trailer is as epic as the team itself.
In the upcoming titles like Street Fighter 6 and TEKKEN 8, some prominent fighters have been turned down as sponsors, such as AngryBird and Big Bird from Street Fighter 6, Raef from TEKKEN 8, and Laggia who emerged victorious in the KOF XV SNK World Championship of 2024.
Tokido’s journey doesn’t end here! He has officially signed up for the SF6 Combo Breaker 2025 tournament. This CPT 2025 event, along with another EWC 2025 qualifier, will take place from May 23rd to May 25th.
Tokido won’t stop now! He is registered for the SF6 Combo Breaker 2025 competition. The CPT 2025 event and an EWC 2025 qualifier will both take place between May 23rd and May 25th.
