UK’s Eurovision Shock as Remember Monday Gets 0 Public Points Again
On Saturday evening, Eurovision‘s Remember Monday suffered a devastating blow, as the United Kingdom garnered no points from the public vote for the second consecutive year at the competition.
Despite missing out on the grand title of the prestigious song contest, the team skillfully prevented the embarrassment of zero points, but Austria claimed a tight win instead. This year’s competition was particularly notable for its high political tension.
The musical group consisting of Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull, and Charlotte Stee (each 30 years old) performed as the United Kingdom’s representatives with their song titled “What Did We Just Experience?
Supporters flocked to X, expressing their disappointment and arguing that the team was unfairly denied victory, as they averaged a score of 88 points.
Comments read: ‘WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?!! 0 from the public?! Robbed’,
‘In the words of Remember Monday, what the hell just happened #Eurovision’,

‘0 points is devastating Remember Monday deserved sm better wtf’,
I sincerely hope that Remember Monday is surrounded by great individuals tonight, as they didn’t truly deserve zero points from the televote.
It’s clear that Remember Monday must be disheartened by the public vote. However, allow me to express that their performance was something I was incredibly proud of, and I don’t make such statements lightly. In fact, they delivered one of my favorite UK Eurovision entries in recent memory. #Eurovision
‘Remember Monday were right….what the HELL just happened? #Eurovision’.
Throughout the contest, audiences at home were certain that the group was going to emerge victorious due to their highly impressive vocal skills being lauded on X.
Although some fans were worried that the UK might not score enough points, they maintained their belief that Monday’s song would still become a hit no matter the outcome.
Supporters of X wrote: ‘I don’t care about the criticism from the haters or the final outcome, those girls performed exceptionally well. #Eurovision’
Wow, ladies! You truly outdid yourselves. Your performance was absolutely breathtaking, and the enthusiasm you showed on stage was contagious. I couldn’t help but love every moment of it. Clearly, you are this year’s champions. #Eurovision #ESC

Despite claims that this tune is merely an incidental West End number, it’s hard to ignore the extraordinary camaraderie displayed by Monday’s performers during their stage act. They genuinely seem to be enjoying every moment of their Eurovision performance!
Absolutely, the Remember Monday group did an outstanding job at Eurovision! They deserve a great deal of pride for their performance. #Eurovision
‘That was PHENOMENAL!!!! Can’t do more now!’
Instead of Celine Dion appearing on stage as anticipated by some fans, they ended up feeling let down when she didn’t show up.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor revealed the UK’s points from Switzerland, not long after it became known that she would be taking over from “Doctor Who” actor Ncuti Gatwa as the UK’s representative speaking for Eurovision 2025.
27 years have passed since the United Kingdom last emerged victorious in the competition, which was back in 1997 when Katrina and the Waves claimed the title with their song “Love Shine A Light.
In 2019, Monday first came to notice when they appeared on The Voice UK, and prior to that, they’ve also had a career in theater.
Remember Monday was dealt an unfortunate blow just hours ahead of the grand final.

Speculation arose that they could win the trophy at this year’s 69th edition of the annual competition held in Basel, Switzerland, marking the UK’s first victory since 1997.
Regardless of their energetic performance, it seemed that they had a lower chance of coming in first rather than last, as suggested by Ladbrokes.
In a significant setback for their triumphant bid, the oddsmakers placed them as long shots, giving them only a 6.6% chance of winning the trophy, while nine other nations were favored over them.
The likelihood of them finishing in last position is nearly a reality with odds of 3 to 1, whereas the possibility of them earning no points was rated at 12 to 1.
According to Alex Apati from Ladbrokes, it would take quite an extraordinary event for Monday to win tonight’s game in Switzerland, as the current odds suggest.
If Monday’s team experiences a similar outcome as Olly Alexander in the final, they have chosen to get the abbreviation for their song, WTHJH?, permanently inked somewhere on their bodies.
They stated on Instagram, “If we place in the top five or higher, each member of our team must have the initials WTHJH permanently inked onto their bodies.
‘We won’t take no for an answer. Can I get a hell yeah?

“It’s definitely taking place; there’s no doubt about it. It simply must occur. If we end up in last place with zero points, that’s still something worthy of getting tattooed.
The band made it official that they were competing in Eurovision by appearing as guests on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show, which airs on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.
Following several weeks of anticipation, Scott declared, “A song isn’t eligible for Eurovision until I deem it so.
“I’m absolutely excited to support the team standing for us, and I believe you’ll find them charming too. They are truly exceptional and very kind.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the new song currently available is a high-spirited pop number brimming with energy, excitement, and drama! This masterpiece was jointly crafted by the talented duo Billen Ted, comprising of Tom Hollings and Sam Brennan, along with Thomas Stengaard and Julie ‘Kill J’ Aagaard.
Billen Ted, nominated for BRIT Awards, collaborated with artists such as Little Mix, Anne-Marie, MNEK, and Armin van Buuren, among others.
