Final Destination Bloodlines RECONNED Everything?! Directors Reveal All!

In the latest installment of “Final Destination: Bloodlines,” filmmakers discuss the theory that the victims in the previous films are actually descendants of survivors from Skyview High School. This idea is further explored through Stefanie (played by Kaitlyn Sant Juan), who tries to protect her family from Death’s ominous plans. The sixth movie, released on May 16th, unveils a vast map displaying numerous victims who have connections to Skyview and their descendants, all of whom were saved by Stefanie’s grandmother, Iris (portrayed by Brec Bassinger/Gabrielle Rose).

Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, directors of the Skyview project, expressed their thoughts on the Survivor Theory during an interview with Ebaster. While they have had extensive discussions and debates about this concept, they didn’t incorporate it fully into the story because a rule in the sixth installment dictated that the previous generation would be targeted first. This would have easily contradicted the established canon. Here’s what they revealed during the interview:

Stein: Well, that’s something we discussed and debated a lot.

Lipovsky: Because that would be so juicy.

We stopped short of going that far because it implied their parents had to be deceased before they were.)

We aimed to preserve the continuity of the storyline seen in previous films, so we decided to confine all deaths occurring in our film only within the Skyview.

Stein: Iris’s book delves into the research of those other movies, accidents, and premonitions because she believes they had premonitions. She’s doing this to see if there’s any way to escape death. However, we didn’t explore that concept as deeply in FD 2 and FD 3 due to the issue of introducing parents who are still alive, which can be a complex aspect to deal with in terms of breaking the established canon.

The Directors Have Debunked Skyview Survivor Theory

Although the Skyview Survivor Theory is an intriguing notion, unfortunately, it has been disproven, implying that in Final Destination: Bloodlines, events unfold as part of Death’s master plan, much like the earlier films. However, this installment presents a unique twist – instead of only a few individuals evading the catastrophe, Iris, the seer, successfully saves everyone from the impending disaster.

The most recent addition deliberately decided on what to feature as Final Destination references (or Easter eggs) and what to leave out. While Flight 180 is mentioned in Iris’ journal, the film’s credits, which follow Death’s coin through the Skyview lineage, clarify that this event wasn’t the initiator of the prior series of events. Contrastingly, the movie managed to shed light on Tony Todd’s character JB’s past and his role in Death’s plan for the first time.

Our Take On Skyview Survivor Theory

It Would Have Been Problematic, But Mind-Blowing

The idea of incorporating the Skyview Survivor Theory into the movie is fascinating and could significantly enhance it. However, implementing this concept might introduce inconsistencies within the franchise. To put it another way, presenting Skyview as an independent catalyst for a new cycle serves to reveal Death’s broader strategy, while subtly hinting at a sequel. Yet, it’s important to note that there are currently no plans for Final Destination 7, and the film does not include any post or mid-credits scenes.

Although some fans might find it slightly disheartening that Final Destination: Bloodlines didn’t delve into its origins, it does give the series a darker and more tragic edge than initially thought. It appears that Death not only initiates calamities but also resorts to drastic actions to rectify his plan if it deviates from its intended course.
