Sally Lindsay and Neil Morrissey’s divisive thriller Love Rat has just been added to Netflix.
The series consisting of four episodes initially broadcasted on Channel 5 about a year ago can now be streamed online.
The story features Lindsay, a previous actor on “Coronation Street,” and Morrissey, a past actor from “Waterloo Road.” They portray Emma and Pete, two individuals with a rather tumultuous past.
It appears that Emma has discovered a fresh chapter in life and love with the Greek hotel proprietor Nyko, only to uncover later on that he was using her emotional weakness to swindle her.
As a dedicated gamer, I must confess that the response to this show has been quite varied. Some fellow gamers have voiced their concerns, stating that the storyline and character development seem a tad “unrealistic.” A handful of them even went as far as saying it’s inadvertently humorous because of its apparent rough edges.

On the contrary, some spectators argue that it’s quite an enjoyable, relaxed viewing experience, a point that iNews concurs with. Notably, they commended the acting skills displayed by both Lindsay and Gerald Kyd.
The review states that Lindsay effectively portrayed a woman battling mid-life loneliness. Similarly, Kyd’s portrayal of Niko was equally convincing, blending charisma with an understated uneasiness that remained constant throughout his performance.
He wasn’t overtly sleazy, but rather always seemed to be on the border of being so. His charm, reminiscent of a millionaire trying to win over a puppy, could easily captivate someone as vulnerable as Emma – despite the fact that he was clearly peddling an illusion.

Over the past few years, Lindsay has kept up a robust connection with what is now known as 5, and it was back in March when the fourth season of “The Madame Blanc Mysteries” debuted on their network.
Before its comeback, she clarified that the key to its popularity lies in portraying middle-aged couples who prefer not to have children: “They prefer to live separately… rather than wanting a hectic lifestyle.
Love Rat is available now on Netflix.
